Hiring the right person can be a b*tch of a time...
I've been searching for an Executive Assistant with tech and implementation/project management skills forever, found the exact one, then lost him because he was poached due to a client (a major client) whose payment was late and still isโ€”due to uncontrollable factors from banking restrictions in their respective industry. Very unfortunate Though, now that's been said... ROUND 2! ... FIGHT!!! โš”๏ธ It sucks sometimes, but there's always that unicorn you fail to catch. On the bright side, there always has to be another. The work, effort, and time that go into finding the right hire, along with the inherent risk of hiring the wrong person who seems to be the right fit, are always a factor, whether we like it or not. Risks business owners need to deal with every day. Eh? ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ
Executive Dysfunction (The "Can't Get Sh*t Done Disease")
If you have Executive Dysfunction, which means you struggle to get work started and tend to put things off or find distractions to occupy yourself with activities that aren't the things that need to be done, you're not alone. Executive Dysfunction impacts a lot of entrepreneurs, high-level executives, etc. (though also those with chronic anxiety and/or clinical depression are extremely susceptible, of course, but that's a bit different). It makes things hard, but our bodies are programmed to keep ourselves feeling "safe" and, in this case, "comfortable." You need to embrace the discomfort and power through. Come up with a process or a "ritual," if you will, that will get you going. As soon as you break that barrier, everything starts to flow out, which often results in nonstop productivity. It's up to us to find out what triggers us to either become dysfunctional or trigger us to get the work and initiative finally started. (Though, I do highly recommend going to a therapist to find out what's holding you back to make that journey easier and less difficult.) It also comes from burnout, so if you don't have Executive Dysfunction, it can easily surface from working too much, too often. It'll eventually rear its ugly head if you take it too far, which results in a massive setback. The overall message here is to take care of yourself and look inโ€”to project your value and knowledge/service out to others. To push yourself forward without causing more damage and to understand yourself at a level where you can control these unconscious impulses and roadblocks.

There's no shame in voting whether or not you struggle with Executive Dysfunction. In fact, that's why we're here. To better ourselves and help each other get there. ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Visualization Exercise
https://www.instagram.com/p/DFD13d-AL4J/ I found this short this week and I think it would be a great exercise to try over the weekend and maybe post/talk about on Monday. It's a visualization exercise using ChatGPT that is also supposed to help with scheduling. Here is the exercise if you don't want to click on the video: 1. Write down all of your future goals and desires in a document. How you want your life to look like, what you want to have and how you want to be. Think big. Write down all of your wildest dreams. 2. Write into ChatGPT (itโ€™s free) โ€œtell me a story of a day in the life as my future self based on this descriptionโ€: then copy and paste everything youโ€™ve written down in your document. 3. Read through your future life. Visualize it, feel it and let it sink it. 4. Now write in ChatGPT โ€œcreate a daily schedule for me to follow that will allow me to achieve this exact lifeโ€ and it will give you a step by step plan with everything to help you make it your reality. Post your results in the comments! (I'll post mine too)

@Cj Evans oh really now? Hmmm. ChatGPT, eh?
What was your latest adventure?
On Monday, we talked about exercise and play. Sorry, but if you weren't there, you missed something. But something that many in the call were mentioning is how to make exercise fun. I never liked going to the gym and lifting weights. No one on the call enjoys that. That is why we all shared different ways to exercise: @Cody Isabel = Basketball @Rob Turley = Spear Throwing @Katie Kopp = Swimming @Cj Evans = Wii Fit & VR I participate in a lot of different sports, but I always try to make them as much fun as possible. For example, last weekend I decided to climb a tree with some friends. It's social, outside, and grounded in nature, and we're training our whole body. This is my favourite sport, to go on an adventure and enjoy the journey. What was your latest adventure?

Spear throwing is honestly an incredible experience. Way harder than you'd ever think it would be. ๐ƒ† Honestly, it almost returns you to a primal state that is built into our genetics, so the reward of doing a good job is/are incredibly satisfying.

Staying motivated after a long day in the water
Summer swim is in full swing and my days are filled with lessons and being in the water. I come home exhausted but want to stay motivated to post and work on my behind the scenes swim stuff. How do you stay motivated??

@Cj Evans That works for me as well, but generally, I think a form of meditation and self-hyping is best for me, but there are many different forms in which that comes. Very much an individualistic process and practice.
