💕 Valentine’s Weekly Win - this week, let’s celebrate love. Those everyday choices to show up with patience, softness, and try again. Here’s a little something for you: Roses are red, Grass is sweet, Love isn’t ribbons, It’s four muddy feet. It’s the pause before pressure, The breath before ask, The try that they offer, When trust is the task. So for this weeks romantic Weekly Win, I’d love to know: What moment this week felt like love with your horses? A softer eye? A braver step? A quieter you? Drop your little love story below! 💝🐴✨🫶

@Cheg Darlington amazing Cheg!!!! So proud of you both!!! I feel aligned to some of what has been occurring as I had similar experience with Zorro my old young horse... he threw me around a bit at times! You have achieved something very special and Ronnie will feel it too🐴🌟 I think the new environment says a lot too... the new positive energy is defo helping you both 🫶🫶

🎧 HOW to get good with horses…
👉 Podcast highlight number 15 - this episode is close to my heart because it’s simple…but powerful. The secret to getting good with horses? Don’t sit still. Have a plan but keep it flexible. Allow rest periods but always return with intention. If your horse spooks, let it go. Don’t build a story around it. If you feel like you can do more, don’t second-guess yourself - step forward. And if you need support, ask. There’s no strength in struggling alone. Getting good isn’t about perfection. It’s about momentum, reflection, and staying in the game. If this message resonates, maybe share the podcast with someone who needs to hear it. At the end of the day, we all want the same thing: great horses and honest partnerships. 👉 You can listen on your favorite podcast app or directly on my website here: https://www.getgoodwithhorsescourses.com/podcast/ And I’d love to know, what’s one thing you’ve done recently that moved you forward instead of holding you back? with love, Zoë 🐴✨🫶

Mine was my first proper coaching session recently with the little one. Its been a few years since I used my coach and because Percy ( older horse) is so good with me, I have to go back to basics re starting him. Using my reflection 4+1 horse centred thinking tool, really helps me to reflect on what I was concerned about to be able to step forward next time. Due to the rain, I have paused- read again Zoë, some of your classroom lessons on leading, tying his rope halter, standing and space ready for today ... hopefully sun is shining and its an opportunity to re start his plan... walking side by side, a little pole request and general listening to see how he copes. Patience is key. I have realised that I have all the time in the world to start him and I I feel more confident in using my own initiative this time... no pressure... step by step 👌🏻🐴☺️

💚 Why I Don’t Rush Young Horses...
...but I do suggest starting to get things done, implemented and understood as young as possible. Why? Because they need the time to understand. So the sooner things are explained to them, the sooner they will understand compared to for example, others who were not. Speed creates reactions sure, might even look like the finished product but it rarely is and shows up later, whereas time creates understanding, and confidence and lower expectations being met with good ones. A young horse who is allowed to grow into their work, physically and mentally becomes the horse who lasts. And longevity will always matter more than quick results. What’s something you’re choosing not to rush right now? 🐴✨🫶

The bridle.... Not touched it yet! But I am also considering not using.... 🧐
Teaching the little ones...
Just wanted to post a few snaps from today... with my grandaughter... Ziggy🫶 She loves spending time with me/the boys but I also firmly hold values of teaching them young that it's not about the riding first!!🐴☺️ Poo picking Grooming Hay management Food and nutrition Coat care Cleaning tack Tidy tack room Mending fences WINTER ROUTINE 😏 Vets, dentist, farrier care.... All start before riding!! Love to know your thoughts on this too! ☺️ She is nearly 3.... if she proceeds to want to ride them then she is starting at the core responsibilities of horse management as I really want her to appreciate a horse is for life.. full annual routine and not just about riding them like on TV ☺️
