HI guys! So many interesting takes here. @Max Fedoseev mentions ads, and I managed to grow a playlists up to 12 000 followers and 2000 through ads (even though I do agree with the sentiment about playlists sort of making what we do just background music), that helps me get a boost whenever I release something now. Haven't done that in a few years however. Did the same thing as @Martin Eibisch , bought the Spotify Growth Engine course and delved into that. What I've been leaning most towards lately, to try to get away from the whole background music thing, is to be very personal with my music, and tell the story around it. Because our music don't have any lyrics, I find that I want to do that to make people connect with it on a personal level. @Sebastian Jautschus does a great job with building stories the viewers can immerse themselves in on his socials, and REALLY capturing the vibe of his music in that storytelling. I guess I've been focusing more on telling personal stories, and how that connects with the music, to make people care about the music I make, and perhaps connect with it on a deeper level. Since this is a time of short focus, I've been experimenting with short hooks, to make people stay and watch any videos of me playing the songs as well.
