New gear! First recording
Needs practice. My first recording into Garage band on my early birthday gift to myself. Now I need to just learn to play better. This was at least 15 takes. You guys make it all look so easy!

@Freddie Webber thanks…been getting in lots of practice time lately. Also learning how to keep things simple like we discussed…I like to try running before I walk. I’m just happy to have a studio that doesn’t freeze and crash all the time any more. Hoping to get more done this weekend. Loved hearing all the releases and videos from friend from work. Keeps me motivated. You guys rock!!

Such a cool Idea @Rick Flores ! Like a modern day waver version of we are the world. @Sebastian Jautschus take all the time you need. I always wondered how you were able to do it all. I have very good news to share myself, as some of you may or may not know, my oldest son and I have had a strained relationship, but just this past Saturday we reconciled and gave each other the first loving hug in 5 years. He just graduated high school. I’m so proud to find out that he not only earns $35k in scholarships to attend Palm Beach Atlantic University as Principle Flautist, but also was just bestowed Jeffery Kahn’s custom flute that was previously bestowed to Joey’s current flute teacher and Mentor. Jeffery Kahner mentored Jasmin Choi who is my son’s Idol. The University also just hired Joey’s teacher to be his personal instructor as well to help esteem their program. Never in my dreams would I imagine that he could take his passion for music this far. I always knew he had it in him. I was one of those dads that played Mozart to him in the womb and always put instruments in his hands growing up letting him explore. He has ADHD and always uses it as therapy to calm his nerves. He is high functioning on the spectrum and most people would never know. He always resented me for putting him in Violin lessons at such a young age, but at least he learned music theory and is surpassing me in every way to follow his dreams. I’m comforted to know that no matter what, he will always have music to fall back on to comfort him and I feel God has gifted us this passion as a common bond that can never be broken. More than that, I know he is and will continue to surround himself with creatives that are the most gentle, sensitive and empathetic souls as evidenced in this very special group. Sebastian, I celebrate your personal success and appreciate you being so open with your journey and inspiring us all. Relaxed energy to you all.

Sorry for the long post. Me and my son reconciled for the first time in 5 years. God is good. Been praying for this.
I'M GONNA UPLOAD BABY! . . . . but first . . . .
Hey ya'll - I'm going to do it! I'm going to upload my first instrumental track under the artist name "Toe Beans" !!! BUT . . . . I'm getting myself into a bit of a pickle over making sure the song is as good as it can be for my first release - mix and master wise. I made some small adjustments and then attempted a go at mastering using stock plugins and a YouTube tutorial. I feel like I have no clue what I'm doing :P I want to get good enough to do everything myself and I appreciate that you have to keep doing it over and over to refine your process/style etc, but would really appreciate one more round of opinions before I release this bad boy into the world. Attached is a wav file so I hope it plays :P Basically, in short: Is this of enough quality to upload?

@Freddie Webber I’m so proud of you! Way to take this step. I really need to buckle down and focus on just one song. To me this is probably my hardest hurdle, just finishing one idea instead of a bunch of unfinished short concepts. The sound quality is great from what my novice ears can tell.
Big Stretch - First Release - Toe Beans
My Fellow Wavers, I hope you're all doing well. It's been a while since I've been engaged in the community (#forgive) lot's of lovely life things kept getting in the way. Anywho, I was fiddling away yesterday evening and stumbled across an idea that I liked and this morning I thought "bugger it" and recorded this song. I've been working on/toying with releasing this type of music for a long while and now I'm getting to the point where I think I'm ready to pull the plug and do it. I recorded an 5 songs back in February which I have been working on to release, but this song came to me yesterday and an inner voice said that this should be the first one to come out. So! I would greatly appreciate any feedback on mixing/levels/etc from anyone that feels inspired to do so, and then I'm going to create a profile and upload this bad boy! (Mixing note: I have an old Mac and Logic. I have only used stock plugins and will continue to do so until I have a new laptop - this Mac is close to the end now and struggles just to do simple things.) Thanks in advance, big love to you all and hope you're having a splendid day :) Freddie

Really nice Freddie! Was just blasting it on my stereo and was sad when it ended. I long for the build up to happen sooner. Its catchy. The drums sounded great. Where did you find those sounds? Was it midi drums? I can’t wait until I can produce tracks without the pc crashing. Right now all I have is my looper pedals. I get so caught up in all the options / plugins and forget to actually finish a song. (Or subconsciously I’m self sabotaging so I won’t). You are inspiring me big time.

@Freddie Webber thats so cool and creative, genius in its simplicity to use percussive hits. I should have known, but the timber is spot on and so unique.
