DIY Lavender and Oatmeal Bath Soak
Happy Self-Care Sunday, beautiful souls! 🌸 Today, let's treat ourselves to a little pampering with a DIY Lavender and Oatmeal Bath Soak. This simple recipe is perfect for soothing tired muscles, calming your mind, and nourishing your skin. It's like a spa day in your own bathtub! Here's what you'll need: 1 cup Epsom salts 1 cup rolled oats 1/4 cup dried lavender buds 10 drops lavender essential oil (optional) How to make it: Grind the oats in a food processor or blender until they're a fine powder. In a large bowl, mix the ground oats with the Epsom salts and dried lavender buds. If using, add the lavender essential oil and mix well. Store in an airtight container until ready to use. To use, simply add 1/2 to 1 cup of the mixture to your warm bath water. Swirl it around to dissolve, then sink in and relax for 15-20 minutes. The Epsom salts help to ease muscle tension, while the oatmeal soothes and moisturizes your skin. Lavender, with its calming scent, helps to relax your mind and promote restful sleep. This bath soak is perfect for those evenings when you need to unwind after a long day, or when you want to pamper yourself with some extra self-care. It also makes a wonderful gift for friends or family who could use a little relaxation. Remember, taking time for self-care isn't selfish - it's necessary. You deserve moments of peace and rejuvenation. What's your favorite way to pamper yourself at home? Share your self-care tips in the comments below! Wishing you a peaceful and relaxing week ahead. πŸ’œπŸ›

As a person who is too tall for the tub, I would ask that you enjoy your soaks for me too! Perhaps one day I'll be able to afford a custom-made one. #goals

@Jeanne A Kargel what a lovely idea! I’ll see if I can locate a bucket that’s long enough. Thank you for the recommendation!
ADHD Herbs
I'm new to the use of herbs on the path to wellness. I'd love to know if there are any recommendations for which herbs might benefit those with ADHD.
What's your Herbal Stress Buster
Happy Wednesday, beautiful souls! 🌿✨ Let's talk about those moments when stress creeps in and threatens to steal our peace. We've all been there, right? The racing thoughts, the tightness in our chest, the feeling that everything's just a bit too much. But here's the thing - nature has gifted us with some amazing allies to help us through these moments. Today, I want to chat about our go-to stress-busting herbs. You know, those magical plants that seem to wrap us in a comforting hug just when we need it most. For me, when stress hits, I turn to my dear friend lemon balm. There's something so soothing about its gentle lemony scent that instantly helps me feel more grounded. I love to brew a cup of lemon balm tea, letting the aroma fill my kitchen as I take a moment to breathe deeply. It's like a mini-meditation in a mug! But here's where it gets really interesting - I want to hear from you! When life gets a little too hectic, what herb do you reach for? Maybe it's calming chamomile, or perhaps you're a fan of adaptogenic ashwagandha? Do you sip it as a tea, take it as a tincture, or have another creative way of using it? Share your favorite stress-busting herb and how you use it in the comments below. Let's create a beautiful herbal tapestry of calm together! Remember, in this midlife journey, we're not just surviving - we're thriving. And sometimes, thriving means knowing exactly which plant ally to call on when we need a little extra support. So, lovely ladies, what's your herbal stress-buster? I can't wait to learn from your wisdom! πŸ’–πŸŒ± If you want to chat more about herbs in a more one on one setting book a discovery call and we can have a free chat about herbs. I don't think I've ever tried lemon balm. I'm wondering if I might be able to pick up a small amount at Bulk Barn to try it out as a soothing tea.

@April Johnson WOW! I'm excited to find some and try it out. Maybe I could use it to make an iced tea and sip on it throughout the day. Also, thanks for enhancing my vocabulary. I had to look up carminative. What a great word!
Your Favorite Way to Treat Yourself
Self-care is not just a buzzword; it's an essential practice for maintaining our mental, emotional, and physical well-being. In our fast-paced world, taking time to treat ourselves with extra care and love is more important than ever. It's about recognizing our own needs and taking intentional steps to meet them. My favorite way of treating myself is to sit outside in nature and just be. There's something incredibly soothing about connecting with the natural world. The gentle rustle of leaves, the warmth of sunlight on my skin, the scent of fresh air - it all combines to create a sense of peace and renewal. This simple act of being present in nature helps me reset, recharge, and reconnect with myself. But self-care looks different for everyone. For some, it might be curling up with a good book and a cup of tea. Others might find joy in cooking a favorite meal, taking a long bubble bath, or going for a leisurely walk. Maybe it's treating yourself to a massage, spending time on a beloved hobby, or simply allowing yourself to take a nap without feeling guilty. The key is to choose activities that truly nourish your soul and make you feel cared for. It's not about what you think you should do, but what genuinely makes you feel refreshed and valued. Remember, self-care isn't selfish - it's necessary. When we take care of ourselves, we're better equipped to care for others and handle life's challenges. It's like putting on your own oxygen mask first in an airplane emergency - you need to be okay before you can help anyone else. So, lovely community, I'm curious to hear from you. What's your favorite way to give yourself a little extra care and love when you need it? Do you have a go-to self-care ritual? Or perhaps you're still exploring what works best for you? Share your thoughts in the comments below. Your self-care practice might be just the inspiration someone else needs to start prioritizing their own well-being. Let's create a beautiful tapestry of self-care ideas together!

Reading is definitely a go-to for me. I get out of my head, and it is completely "me time".

@April Johnson I've been reading many ARCs (advanced reader copy) from authors to build hype before it publishes. The one I'm reading at the moment is not my cup of tea. I'm hoping to be done soon so I can move on to something else. I tend to read a book in about 2-3 days, depending on what's going on.
What Does Self-Care Mean to You?
Hey there, beautiful souls! β˜€οΈ I've been thinking a lot about self-care lately and how it shows up differently for each of us. You know what I mean? That phrase "self-care" gets tossed around so much these days – from bubble baths to boundary-setting – but what does it actually mean in our real, everyday lives? Beyond the Instagram Version of Self-Care Let's be real for a second. When you hear "self-care," does your mind immediately jump to face masks and fancy candles? Don't get me wrong – I love a good aromatherapy moment! But I've come to realize that true self-care runs so much deeper than the products we buy or the occasional treat. For me, self-care has evolved to mean honoring what my body, mind, and spirit actually need in any given moment. Sometimes that's rest. Sometimes it's movement. Sometimes it's saying "no" to something that would drain me, even when saying "yes" would be easier. The Many Faces of Self-Care I've noticed in our community that self-care takes countless forms: - For some, it's strict morning routines with meditation and journaling - For others, it's spontaneous dance breaks between Zoom calls - Some find it in connection with friends and family - Others discover it in solitude and silence There's no "right way" to practice self-care – there's just YOUR way. When Self-Care Feels Impossible Can we talk about those seasons when taking care of yourself feels like one more thing on an impossible to-do list? I've been there too. During those times, I've learned that self-care might look like: - Five deep breaths before responding to an email - Drinking a full glass of water - Stepping outside for two minutes of fresh air - Being gentle with yourself when you're struggling Sometimes the most powerful self-care is simply acknowledging that you're doing your best in a difficult moment. Self-Care as Self-Respect One of my favorite perspectives on self-care comes from my friend who describes it as "treating yourself with the same kindness and respect you'd offer to someone you deeply love."

I work from home. When I feel exhausted, I give myself permission to go lie down for 5-10 minutes, away from the computer and the constant demands. I would like to do more, and I love thinking about it as "treating yourself with the same kindness and respect you'd offer to someone you deeply love." I can do better!
