⛳️👋 New to Recess? Start Here to Get the Most Out of This Community
Welcome to Recess. If you're here, you're building a Skool, and you know how lonely it can get at times. The long, hard days. The wins nobody celebrates with you. The losses you don't want to post about. The questions you're embarrassed to ask. The days where you wonder if any of this is working. That's why I built recess. No courses. No content library. No "here's how to 10x your community" spills. Just real people. Real conversations. Real support. Come to vent, share your wins, and grow. ⛳️ HOW TO GET STARTED: 1. Introduce yourself below. Who are you? What's your Skool about? Why did you create it? 2. Read other intros. Find someone whose story resonates. Reply to them. Start a conversation. 3. Ask when you need help. No question is too small. No question is too small. I will respond to all. 4. Give when you can. Your experience might be exactly what someone else needs to hear. 5. Show up when you can. No daily requirements. No engagement pressure. Come when you need to. Rest when you need to. Recess is what we make it together. Building a community isn't meant to be done alone. And now, you don't have to. 🎉 WHAT HAPPENS HERE: 1. Weekly Skool Spotlight: Every week, one Skool gets pinned at the top. The whole community rallies around it. Feedback, support, members. We lift each other. 2. Monthly Founder Pair-Ups: Get matched with another Skool owner at a similar stage. Accountability. Friendship. Someone who actually gets it. 3. Friday Wins Thread: No win is too small. First member? Post it. Hit 100? Post it. Finally fixed your About page? Post it. We celebrate everything here. Welcome home. 🧡

🚦 Red Light Green Light! A Reminder to Slow Down.
Every one remember this game? I sure do. Here's a reminder to slow down during your day. It's easy to get caught up in the speed of things, in the crank, and we must remember to slow down. SO, let's all take a few minutes to slow down: 1. Drop a worry below and let it go + something you're thankful for 2. Take 60 seconds to be thankful for everything around you, reframe your perspective 3. Then close your computer / phone & deep breathe for 2-5 minutes, I promise you'll feel better I attached a really good deep breathing exercise that always helps clear my head.

@Stacey Watts Imposter syndrome is a tough thing to break. Small wins go a long way in helping this :-) Wishing you much success for the bigger project!
❔How do I keep new-to-Skool members engaged?
As most of you know I recently launched a new Skool community and we just hit 42 members! 🎉 It’s early, small, and already showing signs of thoughtful, productive engagement. I originally invited people from outside Skool, and I’ve noticed that off-platform joins tend to be quieter once they’re inside. 🤔 For those of you who run communities and have experience with this, I’d love your perspective: - What’s worked for bringing people in from other platforms and keeping them engaged? - Any onboarding moves or early decisions you’d do again (or avoid)? Appreciate any lessons learned. I’m very much in build-and-learn mode 🙏

@Christina Joy You're not kidding! I do love some of the small improvements they made in the settings :-) Especially the toggle switch for "like" notifications
😎We all have a beginning!
Don't compare your beginning to someone else's highlight reel. That Skool group with 5k members? They launched with 1 person and a lot of doubt. Your Day 1 looks messy and small right now – and that's exactly how it’s supposed to look. The highlight reel only shows the wins after months (or years) of invisible work. Keep building. Keep posting. Keep showing up. Keep moving forward. Your beginning is where the real magic starts – not where it ends. What’s one small step you took today, even if it felt tiny? Drop it below – let’s cheer each other on.

Starting to set up my Proveworth profile today! I've been putting it off for no good reason 😅
When did you "take the leap"
Working in corporate America for nearly 20 years wore me down... I couldn't take it anymore! 3 years ago I went all in 💪🏻 Left the corporate world, cashed out my 401k, started my business... Some still can't believe I did it, including myself sometimes 😅 so my question for you is simply... When did you take that leap? Note: I would never recommend someone leave a job to pursue entrepreneurship without having at least 6-12 months worth of living expense saved. I was fortunate to be in a position where I was able to do this 🙏🏻

@Mieka Clarke I was working at Costco during covid and we never closed either but that was when stuff started getting weird for everyone. Skool can get you there for sure!
