Tiny habits today, daily practice tomorrow + Sugarcube 🧊
Do you practice daily or every now and then? Many guitar teachers say you should practice every day. But the first step is to build tiny habits. Once you do that, daily practice will come naturally. It's better to start extra small than to play on and off for years just because you weren't realistic. Just a little reminder for the new week. Do you find daily practice easy, or do you struggle with it? Let's start a discussion below 👇

For me it was pretty much the same as @Lucas Bryars When I was younger it was easy because I enjoyed it. The guitar was always around me somewhere and even if I was doing something else (like watching a movie) I would have the guitar in my hands and just play random things

👋 Heyo! Here’s a creative lick challenge for the weekend. Step 1: Watch the video below. Step 2: Learn ONE of the 3 riff variations - the easy, medium or hard one. Step 3: Make up your own ending for it, record and share it under this post! ❕Skip to 2:19 for the easy difficulty riff. ❗Skip to 4:10 for the medium difficulty riff. ‼️ Skip to 6:44 for the hard difficulty riff. ✨ I'm excited to see what you'll come up with this time!

I think this was the most fun @Christian Lie so far, especially because of the tone. Really like this 'octaver' tone when playing majory riffs 😁

@Josh Radford Thanks Josh! Glad you like it. I really like dissonant notes in chords while using distortion. Not sure what's that about, but it does something to my brain haha My wife hates it whenever I play stuff like that lol 😅
Put pieces around this Phrygian modeled Motif
Is that Hum distracting to anybody else? I have no idea how to reduce it any further. I made it worse by using the p90 instead of just the Humbucker. But the break up sounded so much better with it on.

Really like how creative you're getting with these modes. Have you tried finishing this or some other songs with drums and bass? I would like to hear how you are imagining the whole song 😁
Pentatonic Transition Exercise (Box 1-4)
Still working on moving between the pentatonic boxes. Also working more on the timing/ not playing every note exactly on the metronome. I still feel like I need to work on it more as I didn’t always end each lick on time, but it still made me think and be more conscious of playing “around” the beat which was good.

This is a great exercise actually for practicing precision for big slides. You are doing great @Riley Duncan and also keeping it tight with the metronome. Great job!

👋 Hey everyone! Here’s a creative chord progression challenge for the weekend. This time, i have a fingerstyle riff for you. Step 1: Watch the video below. Step 2: Learn ONE of the 3 riff variations - the easy, medium or hard one. Step 3: Make up your own ending for it, record and share it under this post! ❕Skip to 0:58 for the easy difficulty riff. ❗Skip to 1:55 for the medium difficulty riff. ‼️ Skip to 3:08 for the hard difficulty riff. ✨ Let’s see what cool ideas we can come up with together! P.S. I said "G form" at 3:57 when i referred to the chord voicing. But it's actually C form. If this is greek to you, it just means you haven't learned the layered method yet. If so, no need to worry about it.

@Christian Lie yeah, I guess it's a natural way to move from E to A to B
