What's everyone favourite chord?
If you could only pick one to play for the rest of your life...which would it be? Mine would be an Emaj7 chord, root A string!

Great conversation starter! I'm a little torn between a basic 11th chord and your meat-and-potatoes G open chord. I learned The Long And Winding Road on guitar. And it has a Bb11 if i remember correctly. Such a cool one 😎 And there are so many variations you can do with the open chords. Love the simplicity of We Are Going to Be Friends by The White Stripes for example. It starts on G with some fingerpicking. Any particular songs that come to mind where you use the Emaj7?
Finish-it Friday #5
👋 Heyo! Here’s a creative lick challenge for the weekend. Step 1: Watch the video below. Step 2: Learn ONE of the 3 riff variations - the easy, medium or hard one. Step 3: Make up your own ending for it, record and share it under this post! ❕Skip to 2:19 for the easy difficulty riff. ❗Skip to 4:10 for the medium difficulty riff. ‼️ Skip to 6:44 for the hard difficulty riff. ✨ I'm excited to see what you'll come up with this time!

@Josh Radford Cool stuff Josh. And i can see how the two-string option is a little easier than 3-note per string on acoustic because there's less sustain. I like the ending bit you added with the 7th chord though. Definitely has a commercial-sting or sitcom vibe to it lol. Wish you a great trip to Madrid mate ☀️
Pentatonic Transition Exercise (Box 1-4)
Still working on moving between the pentatonic boxes. Also working more on the timing/ not playing every note exactly on the metronome. I still feel like I need to work on it more as I didn’t always end each lick on time, but it still made me think and be more conscious of playing “around” the beat which was good.

Nice. I see progress here with both the connection of boxes and your off-beat timing. I especially liked the B and D string runs you had here. Cause you landed on the "and" part of "one-and-two-and-three-and-four" if we were to vocalize the 8th notes. If that makes sense? Which box transitions do you feel the most and the least confident with so far?

@Riley Duncan Right. No problem. Feel free to transition from 1 to 2, then 2 to 3, 3 to 4 and so on. Then focus on the one that feels the most awkward. That's what i'd do at least 🙂
Phrygian Dominant with Cool Delay Setting
Just a Cool DD-200 setting I found and used with the Phrygian Dominant Scale

Love it. Sounds like the desert level of a Castlevania video game

@Lucas Bryars There you go. I had a feeling. Portrait of Ruin was my favorite.
Motif I'm Trying to build around
After Mars Volta got brought up a few weeks ago I tried playing in that kind of jazzy double stop dyad kinda style but I applied it to one of my favorite chord progressions. After toying around I came up with this. I feel like I could do some cool stuff with it. Just need to figure out what to put around it.

@Lucas Bryars Those sound great. Rock and Roll by The Velvet Underground has a few 6 chords. Ever heard it?

@Lucas Bryars They're something else. I remember reading that Bowie and Iggy Pop were both inspired by their sound. And that says a lot of how innovative they were
