Beyond Just Publishing
Publishing a book is only part of the journey. Understanding your audience, refining your presentation, and learning how to position your work well are just as important. Every lesson learned builds stronger results. What is one publishing lesson you've learnt and wish you knew earlier?

@Barbara Freethy It's nice meeting you Freethy
Writers, let’s talk about revision for a moment.
When you reach the editing stage, what part tends to slow you down the most? Is it cutting words you worked hard to write? Strengthening dialogue so it sounds natural? Fixing pacing that feels slightly off? Cleaning up grammar and sentence flow? Or restructuring sections that just are not landing the way you hoped? Revision can be one of the most rewarding stages, but it can also be the most frustrating. I have noticed that many writers struggle most with clarity and flow during self edits, especially when they are too close to the work. What part of revision feels the most overwhelming to you right now? And when you get stuck, do you push through it alone, step away for a while, or seek outside feedback? I would genuinely love to hear how you approach this stage of the writing process.

@Indy M I hear you! Editing can definitely feel like the most challenging part. It’s where the work really gets refined, but it can also be the most frustrating. Taking a step back to reset and calm your mind is such a smart approach. Often, a fresh perspective is exactly what your writing needs to find the right words and flow. How do you usually decide what to cut or keep when you return to it?

@Danielle Marietta Wow, that sounds like such a meaningful process! It’s amazing how stepping away gives you fresh perspective. Refocusing on your characters over the plot will definitely make the story feel more alive and authentic. Excited for you to see it all come together!
Turning Manuscripts into Masterpieces
Self-publishing is empowering, but it requires strategy. Writing the book is just one part. Editing, formatting, cover design, and marketing all matter. Many writers underestimate the power of clarity and professional editing before publishing. A great idea deserves a great presentation. If you have self-published or plan to, what part of the process feels the most overwhelming right now?

Amazon Ads! 📊💰
We had a great call about running and managing Amazon ads this morning. If you missed it, no worries! We are going to run it back next Saturday! ‼️Let’s prep for the call; what questions do you have regarding ads?

@Danielle Marietta Thanks for that.
Quick Question for Authors?
For those seeing sales: What made the biggest difference in your sales ? A) Cover? B) Blurb? C) Keywords? D) Ads? E) Publishing more books? For me, the real shift happened when I started treating each release as part of a long term catalog instead of a one time launch, I'm curious what moved the needle for you? And for those not seeing results yet: What do you think is holding your book back right now? Let’s make this practical. Real answers only.

Thanks for bringing this up; it’s such an important question for anyone trying to grow as an author. For me, the real difference came when I started seeing each book as part of a broader catalog rather than just a one-off launch. Focusing on the long game, with consistent marketing, cross-promotion, and building a readership over time, really made an impact. Covers and blurbs matter more than most people realize. They’re the first thing a reader notices, so investing in quality there pays off. Keywords and ads help with discoverability, but without a strong cover, a compelling blurb, and a clear catalog strategy, it’s tough to move the needle. For anyone still building traction, focusing on those fundamentals and keeping a cohesive presence can make all the difference.
