I’m hosting something special this Friday and I think you might want to be part of it... This isn’t a webinar or a workshop. It’s a Deep Work Tank. Here's how it works in 5 steps: Step 1) Send me a DM now to get the link. Step 2) On Friday we'll hop on Zoom for 8 hours. Cameras are on, microphones are off. Step 3) We work on our business for 8 hours. No distractions, no interruptions. Just deep focus. Checking things off our to-do list, one at a time. Step 4) Every hour we take a quick 5 min break, unmute and say hey. Step 5) At the end, we share what we completed 🏆 It’ll be a co-working ultra marathon for online business owners who want to seriously get SH*T DONE! Imagine what you could accomplish in 8 hours of pure focus with accountability... • Outline your course? DONE. • Schedule a month of emails? DONE. • Batch film a month of Instagram & YouTube content? DONE. • Build out those automations? DONE. • Finish your webinar slides? DONE. • Clean up your CRM or Skool community? DONE. • Redesign your logo or brand kit? DONE. Here all the details: • When is it? Friday, September 26th • What time? 6am PST • Where? Live on Zoom. • Cost to join? It's FREE See you in the Tank? Just send me a DM with the word: "TANK" and I'll send you the private Zoom link. Best, Ted “Get Sh*t Done” Carr P.S. Start adding stuff to your "to-do" list now! P.S.S. Can't make it on Friday but love the idea? Just comment WAITLIST down below to get on the waitlist for the next one and I'll give you a full week heads up notice + we'll do it on a weekend.

This sounds powerful. Eight hours of deep work with accountability is rare these days. I have found that just having someone else working in parallel keeps me focused longer. Do you plan to host this regularly or is it a one-time experiment?

This was solid. I liked the part about long-form YouTube feeding short clips — that’s exactly how I’ve been repurposing content. Volume plus consistency really does compound over time.
3 Myths I used to believe about building communities (and stores too)
1. You need to have all the answers 2. You need to start with a big audience 3. People only join if you give them something flashy Truth? People join when they feel understood. That applies whether you're building a Facebook group, a Skool community or even a store audience. Question: What's your biggest myth you had to unlearn in your community journey?

Totally relate to this. I used to think I needed a giant audience before starting a group, but my first 50 members were actually the most engaged and set the tone for everything after. Turns out depth beats flash. The biggest myth I dropped was “you have to be the expert”, people connect way more when you just share the journey.
What building a store taught me about building a community
When I first launched my store, I thought it was all about products. But I quickly realized that it's actually about people: 1. People who believe in the same idea 2. People who feel seen by your message 3. People who come back not just for the product but for the connection. E-commerce is basically a community on its own. The stronger the sense of belonging, the stronger the sales. 👉 Question: What's one thing you feel you would do to make your community feel connected or what is one thing you've done that made your community feel more connected?

"Your line about sales following belonging really hits." I saw the same thing running a niche apparel store. Repeat buyers weren’t coming back for discounts, they came back for the in-jokes and the sense they were part of something. 1. Tag active members in weekly threads so they feel seen 2. Create a simple ritual like a Friday check-in or wins post 3. Share customer stories, not just product updates Tradeoff: rituals can feel forced at first, but stick with it and they become culture. Happy to DM you the format I used for my wins thread.
🚀Here Are 7 Persuasive Psychological Marketing Principles
The seminal book, "Influence" by Dr. Robert Cialdini will show you how to be super persuasive and hear that magical word, 'YES,' more often in your business deals and everyday life! If you've been in the online game long, you've seen many of these Persuasion Principles. This book is the secret sauce behind many successful off/online marketing campaigns, teaching you how to ethically tip the scale in your favor and close more sales. So, let's get ready to level up your persuasion skills while having fun – just remember to use your new superpowers for good, yuh hear? 😉 TL;DR: The 7 Principles of Influence (see screenshot #2 & #3) 1️⃣ Reciprocity : Give first → Ask later - A skincare brand offers a free eBook on "5 Steps to Glowing Skin" to email subscribers → causing an increase in sales. - You help a neighbor move → they invite you to dinner later. 2️⃣ Commitment : Start small → Build big. - An app asks users to commit to “3 workouts this week” → leads to premium subscriptions. - You start journaling daily → soon you’re writing pages every night. 3️⃣ Social Proof : Follow the crowd. - A SaaS company showcases testimonials like “10,000+ businesses use us!” → increases sign-ups. - You see friends raving about a new Netflix movie → you decide to watch it too. 4️⃣ Liking : People buy from those they like. - Influencers with relatable vibes sell products effortlessly → think TikTok. - Your friend recommends a book → you buy it just because they’re so excited. 5️⃣ Authority : Trust the experts. - A financial advisor posts LinkedIn videos wearing a suit → builds credibility. - You trust your doctor’s advice over random Google AI results. 6️⃣ Scarcity : Rare = desirable. - An e-commerce site uses “Flash Sale: Ends in 2 Hours!” → drives urgency. - You grab the last slice of pizza at a party → FOMO wins. 7️⃣ Unity : Shared values = stronger bonds. - A brand aligns with #ClimateAction → eco-conscious buyers flock to them. - You bond with someone over a shared love of hiking → instant friendship.

"Here are 7 Persuasive Psychological Marketing Principles" is right on. These triggers show up everywhere once you know them. For community building, persuasion is less about selling and more about shaping habits. 1. Use social proof: highlight active members weekly 2. Apply scarcity: time-box a Q&A or AMA 3. Make reciprocity real: give one free resource before asking for a reply I ran a small forum and noticed engagement doubled when I posted a weekly “wins thread” and tagged 3 members. People felt seen and came back. Happy to DM you a short template that worked for me.
