19 March 2026 Day 17
Journal Entry — 19 March 2026 Day 17 of Earning 240k PKR (Financial Goals): 1. Eye check-up and new glasses — 20k 2. New work chair — 20k 3. Laptop for cybersecurity — 200k Day 5 of Complete Detox: - No scrolling - No music - No bad habits - No short-form content Setback Today: At around 2:10 PM to 2:50 PM, I unable control nafs. After iftar, I also spent about 30 minutes on Instagram. Instead of hiding this, I am writing it down honestly. This is important because I want to fix the root cause, not ignore it. Daily Schedule: - 11:00 PM — Slept - 3:30 AM — Woke up for sehri - 5:00 AM — Organized files and tasks on laptop, posted on Skool - 7:00 AM — Slept again - 8:50 AM – 11:30 AM — Online classes - 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM — Shower, cleaned room, random laptop usage, played mobile games (~45 min) - 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM — Unable to control Nafs(main relapse period). Emotional State Before Relapse (Very Important Insight):Today, I clearly identified the emotions I was experiencing before the relapse: 1. Fear about my career 2. Loneliness 3. Stress due to low GPA at university 4. Feeling lost and lacking a clear purpose in life (most dominant) This confirms that the issue is not just discipline. it is emotional mismanagement. Productive Work: - 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM — Solved TryHackMe (~1 hour) + worked on picoCTF (last day of challenge) - 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM — Prayer, prepared and ate iftar, used Instagram (~30 min) - 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM — Continued picoCTF + completed one university assignment - 10:00 PM — Sleep Reflection: Today was not perfect, but it was honest. Writing this clearly shows the pattern: Unstructured time + negative emotions = relapse. This is not a motivation problem. It is a system problem. If I don’t control my environment and schedule tightly, I will repeat this. Plan for Tomorrow: 1. Complete all Information Security assignments 2. TryHackMe — 1 hour 3. picoCTF — 1 hour 4. Linear Algebra — solve 5 questions

A note for the Beginners
If you are new to the community and the platform, you might feel a bit overwhelmed, not understanding how the platform works and seeing people in the community on higher levels than you. That is completely okay. Just take one step at a time — no need to rush. Take your time, put in consistent effort, even if the work you’re doing seems small. It’s better than overloading yourself with effort once and then quitting because you feel overwhelmed. A couple of points you need to take care of: - Fixing your mindset is very important. If you approach this course without working on your mindset, it won’t help you much. This isn’t about courses; it’s about your mindset. So, both you and I need to work on our mindsets as well. I know it’s hard, but let’s ace it together. 💪 - Stop waiting for perfect conditions to start the course. Things and conditions around you will always be imperfect. So, embrace the imperfections. ✨ - You have to adapt the habit of journaling. Share your agenda for the day and then, at the end of the day, post in the community what you did throughout the day. This will help you stay accountable and grow in the community alongside others. It might be a bit difficult sharing your routine if you are an introvert, but you will get used to it as you do it every day. 📓 Following are the things I struggled with initially as a beginner in the community and how I dealt with them: 1. The platform was new for me, and I didn’t know how to use it effectively. But after spending a couple of hours, I can now navigate through the different sections. 2. I’m an introvert, and interacting with others feels heavy, but I had to get out of my comfort zone to grow. 3. Seeing others at higher levels, I wanted that instantly too, but growth takes time and consistent effort. 4. I wanted the locked courses immediately, but I still haven’t gone through the unlocked courses. Later on, I realized that if I work on the videos and engage in the community, I would ultimately have them unlocked.

@Madiha Khattak I created list every day but in the list, there always have more than one task to be important and when I start working on one task it takes to much time like today I have 3 important tasks and must be done today. I working on my first task after shari and it is still going. So what about remaining 2 tasks?

Journal – 18 March 2026 Day 16
Journal – 18 March 2026Day 15 of the 240k Goal Purpose of the Goal 1. Eye check-up and new glasses – 20k 2. New chair for work – 20k 3. New laptop for cybersecurity – 200k Day 4 of Digital Detox Rules for this phase: 1. No mindless scrolling 2. No music 3. No bad habits 4. No short-form content (Reels, Shorts, etc.) The focus remains on building discipline, clarity, and sustained attention. Sleep Schedule - Slept at 10:00 pm - Woke up at 3:30 am for Sahri Daily Activities 5:00 am – 6:00 am - Practiced Cybersecurity (TryHackMe) for 1 hour - Focused on hands-on exercises and improving problem-solving skills 6:00 am – 8:30 am - Slept again to recover energy after early wake-up 8:30 am – 2:30 pm - Attended online university classes - Continued practicing on TryHackMe alongside academic work This was a long but productive session combining theory and practical learning. 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm - Took a nap to recharge 4:30 pm – 7:00 pm - Performed prayer - Helped prepare Iftar - Ate with family 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm - Faced issues with the cybersecurity environment on WSL - Spent significant time troubleshooting and reconfiguring tools - The process was time-consuming and did not fully resolve the issue 9:00 pm – 10:00 pm - Watched some YouTube - Prepared for sleep Reflection Today was generally structured and disciplined, especially in the morning and afternoon. Maintaining the detox for four consecutive days is a strong indicator of improving self-control. However, the evening session was affected by technical setup issues. This is a recurring pattern. While environment setup is necessary, it is consuming a disproportionate amount of time without clear outcomes. You need to start treating environment issues as a limited-time task, not an open-ended activity. Key Adjustment From tomorrow: - Limit environment troubleshooting to 60 minutes maximum - If unresolved, document the issue and switch to lab platforms (TryHackMe, PicoCTF, OverTheWire)
