Last week I got my flame 🔥 and an unexpected opportunity to co-create my new Learn French • Live Martinique community with my French teacher. Consistency is hot. Thanks to @Kai Cerar for reminding me just how much more fun language learning can be with friends and community. I found my glorious French speaking buddy @Krista Melanson in his community. His decision to niche into Spanish for Professionals sparked a conversation with my French teacher that turned into something exciting. Today we officially launched Learn French • Live Martinique. Together we’ll document my journey preparing to live in Martinique from September — charting my slightly chaotic ascent from beginner French to conversational fluency while building a joyful community for English speakers wanting to learn French through the culture, rhythm and beauty of the French Caribbean. It’s not my main community… but honestly? It already feels like something special. A genuine win-win collaboration built around language, culture, friendship and real life learning. And thanks to the Goosify classroom templates our thumbnail looks gorgeous ✨We’re proudly repping the new Martiniquan flag ❤️🖤💚 AND somehow we’ve already landed at number 3 in Discovery when searching 'learn French'! I have a question for all of you creating empires out of your personal brands, a la 🦢 (shh it's a goose) Do you have a personal style that is important to you? I teach neurospicy and adhders how to meditate in my community. In the general sense of wellness spaces there's a whole lot of white linen clothing that I guess is nice. But it's not for me. I noticed that @Goose Dunlavey is doing something almost no one else is; dressing however he wants. So I got to thinking... 🤔 Maybe I've been thinking about my own eclectic goth vibe all wrong. I've been thinking I need to dress the part in the ubiquitous linen to be successful, but I've already spent a lifetime developing my personal aesthetic. I'm goth and I'll always be a goth. Is that really a problem to fix? I don't know if it's helpful to look a bit unexpected as a meditation instructor, but I do think it's right for me, personally. 🕸️I mean what's the point of owning my own business if I don't get to dress how I want? 😎 What do you think?

By end of summer I want 10 paying members in DLS who have never met me. Not coworkers. Not friends. Strangers who found me, liked what they saw, and said yes. $90/month. That's the number. Sounds small. I know. But 10 strangers paying for something you built from scratch hits different than any salary ever did. Dr. Rushin. 15 years in education. Was hoping for 50 by the end of the month but reached ove a hundred 👾 Now it's time to keep my head on straight and make this into a space worth staying in. Really learning a lot from this community in terms of the fun aspect and emphasizing on leveling up rather then just spitting out content. Thank ya'll for being so motivating and encouraging.
