Do You Do This?
- Do you focus more on your rating in chess and get a little bit pissed off of losing streaks , you try to gain those points back and we all know how that ends😅 - or you just play regardless of winning or losing ? - look at these ratings below : both are mine actually but on different accounts. - number 2 is my main account , I'm so tied to that number (2100+) , so i play anxious , and not wanting to lose. - number 1 is my alt account , i don't care a bit about it (2240+) , i play cause i love the game. - look at the difference ! , i never reached 2300 on my main account but did it on the alt one. - focus on the things you can control , your thinking , your tactics , and learning from your games. - you can't control your rating , but you can control your skills and thoughts. - never get attached to a number , or it will eat all your skills and mindset in the game. - i peaked 150 ELO points higher than my actual rating , how crazy is that? - comment your thoughts below, I'll reply to each one

chess is hard
hi,i am 1420 on chess.com and I make a lot of calculation mistakes. When I see the computer’s explanation, I understand what I did wrong. I’m wondering whether it’s a concentration problem or if my calculation skills just aren’t good enough. How could I improve this? Here is a link to a game where I made quite a few mistakes like that,i play white https://www.chess.com/game/166758858508?action=createLiveChallenge&move=6

Drawing Chess Games
https://www.chess.com/game/live/166655248096 At my level (1420 as of writing this post) Do you think I should be drawing games in the end game, or pushing for win and hoping for a mistake from my opponent.? Is it better to just move on from position and draw it or pray my opponent blunders?

i saw this game but didn't really like the amount of exchanges being made , you guys traded all of your pieces and ended up in the most complicated phase of the game: The Endgame, and this phase needs a lot of experience and knowledge about pawns and their structure , king activity , targeting weaknesses , which all are advanced concepts because at the 1400s players still lose because of hanging pieces and tactics , NOT endgame maneuvers , i would recommend that you go for simplicity , if you feel like you can play an endgame and get some kind of a passed pawn , great , go for it , but if mostly like this game , then no , because no one is winning that unless someone blunders , i mean , no clear plan , strategy , or even a weakness , so my tip after this long tip :) , just don't trade a lot of pieces , keep em on the board , if you HAVE TO go to an endgame , it has to be a clear endgame , my king will be active , he has someone an defended pawns , his king not as active as mine , you will feel it :)
