chess is hard
hi,i am 1420 on chess.com and I make a lot of calculation mistakes. When I see the computer’s explanation, I understand what I did wrong. I’m wondering whether it’s a concentration problem or if my calculation skills just aren’t good enough. How could I improve this? Here is a link to a game where I made quite a few mistakes like that,i play white https://www.chess.com/game/166758858508?action=createLiveChallenge&move=6

Wow, you’re really an excellent teacher. I know I was very lucky to win that game. I chose this one because it represents quite well the kind of mistakes I often make. Your explanations are really very clear. I’m going to practice my calculation the way you told me. Thank you so much for taking all this time to explain it to me

Stop Tilting
- many players lose over 50 ELO points in one day because they played more games than they should. - try to keep this rule in mind when playing, 2-3 consecutive losses and you're done, just stop playing!. - when you continue to play, you're not focusing on the game, you're focusing on getting your ELO back - the hunt for revenge and getting your ELO back never works and mostly backfire(losing more than 50 ELO points) - Tell me , when was your last tilting session and how did you deal with it ?

I play too fast and I miss tactics, especially those of the opponent

Hi, I'm Eric. I'm 48 years old. I played chess quite a bit as a teenager, and I've been back playing for a few years now after a long break. I'm around 1750 on lichess and 1400 on chess.com. I'm here because I'd like to reach 2000 on chess.com
