Chinese Students: Easy Way for Consonants Pronunciations
Today I noticed an easy way for Chinese students to learn the consonants pronunciations in American English and would like to share with you. Generally speaking, if you have the correct pronunciations for all 声ęƍ in Chinese, you’ve killed most of the consonants pronunciations in American English. The remaining four sounds are TH sounds (two different ones), V sound and R sound. Please see the comparison table for more details. * Note: this is summarized by myself, may not be 100% correct and cannot be used in professional occasions. Should you have any questions or concerns, feel free to let me know!!!šŸ˜„ ** I never logged in SKOOL via computer before. hahaha, but today I need create a table, so... hope the format is easy to review. šŸ™ƒ

Sweet and sour spareribs
A signature dish of Hangzhou Cuisine . After settling down in the city of Hangzhou for more than 10 years, I gradually fall in love with Hangzhou Cuisine. Originally I’m from Jiangxi Province, people from this province have a strong sense of preference for spicy food. But I’m not as into spiciness as how I used to be now

@Evelyne Vincent I’m not good at cooking. I don’t know how to cook. Searched for the way to cook online. 1. Prepare ingredients .500g spare ribs, 3 tbsp light soy sauce, 2 tbsp dark soy sauce, 4 tbsp rice vinegar, 3 tbsp rock sugar, 1 slice ginger, 2 star anises, and water. 2. Blanch the ribs .Put ribs and ginger into a pot, add cold water to submerge them. Bring to a boil, skim off the foam, then take out the ribs and rinse with warm water. 3. Fry the sugar :Heat a clean pot, add rock sugar and 2 tbsp water. Stir over low heat until the sugar melts and turns golden brown. 4. SautĆ© and braise . Add the blanched ribs to the pot, stir quickly to coat them evenly with the sugar color. Add light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and star anises, stir well. Pour in enough hot water to cover the ribs, bring to a boil, then turn to low heat and simmer for 40-50 minutes until the ribs are tender. 5. Adjust the taste and thicken .Turn to high heat, add rice vinegar, and stir gently. Keep boiling until the sauce thickens and clings to the ribs. Turn off the heat and serve.

A question 😜
I’ve never studied abroad. Some people say that studying abroad is the fastest and most effective way to learn a new language. I agree with this opinion because language is not just about pronunciation, but also about culture. Unless you live in a country for a long time, it’s hard to speak like a native — with one exception: those who have parents from different countries from the start. Such children often grow up speaking at least two languages. How lucky they are! I also know that many people in Europe speak more than two languages. It’s quite common there, right? Because of the geographical closeness and similarities in pronunciation and vocabulary between European languages, people probably find it easier to learn them compared to languages like Chinese. Also, thanks to the internet, learning languages has become much easier than before! We can find countless ways to learn and communicate online. I’d really appreciate it if you could take the time to answer my question. 😘

My English Learning Adventure
As someone from China, I had already studied English for more than ten years like many others. Back in school, my English was actually pretty good. I even won second prize in a university-wide competition—competing against English majors! I guess my school might not have been top-tier, or maybe others didn’t take it too seriously, but still—I'll give myself a pat on the back! 🌟 It just goes to show that my English foundation wasn't too bad. But after graduation… well, I didn't use English much at all. For over ten years, it just stayed on the shelf. Then, this September, I decided to pick it up again. Why? Because of my son Edward, who’s now four and a half—truly the golden age for learning languages! I started searching online for resources to teach him. But something wonderful happened along the way: I rediscovered how much fun learning English could be! A big reason for that is all of you—yes, you! šŸ‘‹ I’ve also met so many friends from around the world, all so kind, encouraging, and inspiring. It’s amazing how language can bring people together like this. I feel truly lucky to be here. It’s a beautiful thing to connect with others in a space free from conflict and misunderstanding. I’ve always loved learning, but the deeper I go, the more I love it. English isn’t just a language—it’s a bridge. A way to truly communicate, to connect heart to heart, and to share and appreciate cultures from every corner of the world. You know, I often imagine: if I could have one superpower for a day, I’d choose to speak and understand every language instantly. Wouldn’t that make the world so much closer? Here’s to fewer barriers, more understanding, and more empathy—one word at a time. Thank you for being part of my journey. It means more than you know. 😘
