My English Learning Adventure
As someone from China, I had already studied English for more than ten years like many others. Back in school, my English was actually pretty good. I even won second prize in a university-wide competitionācompeting against English majors! I guess my school might not have been top-tier, or maybe others didnāt take it too seriously, but stillāI'll give myself a pat on the back! š It just goes to show that my English foundation wasn't too bad. But after graduation⦠well, I didn't use English much at all. For over ten years, it just stayed on the shelf. Then, this September, I decided to pick it up again. Why? Because of my son Edward, whoās now four and a halfātruly the golden age for learning languages! I started searching online for resources to teach him. But something wonderful happened along the way: I rediscovered how much fun learning English could be! A big reason for that is all of youāyes, you! š Iāve also met so many friends from around the world, all so kind, encouraging, and inspiring. Itās amazing how language can bring people together like this. I feel truly lucky to be here. Itās a beautiful thing to connect with others in a space free from conflict and misunderstanding. Iāve always loved learning, but the deeper I go, the more I love it. English isnāt just a languageāitās a bridge. A way to truly communicate, to connect heart to heart, and to share and appreciate cultures from every corner of the world. You know, I often imagine: if I could have one superpower for a day, Iād choose to speak and understand every language instantly. Wouldnāt that make the world so much closer? Hereās to fewer barriers, more understanding, and more empathyāone word at a time. Thank you for being part of my journey. It means more than you know. š
