Weekly Accountability
Second post in the group. I am starting this week at 215.6 lbs on Sunday and I am aiming to get down to 200 lbs in the next 2 months. So my commitments this week are: 3 lifts and 3 30-minute cardio sessions. Posting physique pictures as well for weekly updates.

Dope dude, and you’ve inspired me to go back to using progress pictures.
Core/Hips
I’ve only ever done calisthenics for my core. What do you guys do in terms of weights/machines to train yourself cores? Also is there a good machine substitute for hip thrusts?

Intro Post
Hey guys, my name is Michael and I'm here to improve my fitness journey. I've already lost 12 pounds (195 down to 183 at 5 ft 6) and have started some basic weight lifting however, I am using slightly stern methods. I am only eating 1500 calories a day, not allowing my self to ever drink soda, walking a minimum of 12,000 steps a day and I'm only allowed to eat out if it's with friends or family, which in practice has been when I go out with friends from church. Yet even now as I type this I really want some in and out. In other words I'm here because my efforts are worthless unless I figure out how to make fitness a permanent lifestyle. Also before accepting Christ (I was only baptized/confirmed this Easter Vigil) I was a complete gooner whom ate fast food every day and drank almost a liter of soda a day. Here's a goofy photo of me trying to pose like Mario XD

How many of you guys are fellow TLM Catholics?
Just trust God
Today I coached my student and he did amazing I couldn’t be prouder. After that, I decided to challenge myself by stepping into no-gi. I was nervous, but I prayed before the match and came out with a win by submission. This reminded me that growth comes from facing fear with faith. I still have a long way to go, in BJJ and in life, but I’ll keep training, keep learning, and keep staying grounded in God’s word. Keep pushing forward, stay strong, and God bless everyone be safe out there.”
Just trust God
Good job friend, this makes me want to practice jiu jitsu again. As for overcoming fear with faith I agree we need God to overcome our shortcomings. I was watching the hub for 12 years (I tried quitting many times) and have only recently dropped that poison because God freed me from it.
