Minimalist Sneakers Style Advice
Hi, everyone! I have not posted in a while. But with summer on the way, I feel this is the perfect time to get some input. I bought a pair of minimalist sneakers from Thursday Boots a few years ago, but I have not worn them a lot. They are the Low Top Premier sneakers in coffee (pictured here). I primarily have worn them with some tan chinos, but I want to get more mileage out of them. What kind of outfits would you recommend wearing with them?

@Jonathan Headland Thank you! I definitely would not wear suits with these shoes! I was thinking more casual wear ideas.
Boadicea The Victorious
Boadicea The Victorious is a niche luxury fragrance based in the UK. I've gotten a few samples of their colognes and they are very high quality, but very expensive. Another reason I am asking is that there are too many choices from which to select -- BTV has more than 150 fragrances (active and recently discontinued), which makes it difficult to focus on which ones to consider. Has anyone on RMRS had any experience with BTV? If so, what are some recommendations?

@Julio Gutierrez I went online and saw some reviews, and bought a bunch of 2ml samples from the BTV website and some online retailers, namely Scent Split. I eventually ended up buying several fragrances: 1.) Bodacious (a cherry/tobacco fragrance) 2.) Harmonious (a violet/iris fragrance similar to Dior's Dior Homme Parfum) 3.) 1907 (a fragrance created for Neiman Marcus) 4.) Glorious (a fruity and musky fragrance based on peach, pineapple and musk) 5.) Enthrone (a lavender fragrance with incense and pink pepper) I bought all of them from several online retail stores (Beauty Liv, Scent Rabbit, FragranceNet.com) except for Enthone, which I got from the BTV website. I got them from 30 percent to 50 percent off. I also got the Sapphire Collection -- 10ml bottles of Oud, Blue, Aqua and Green Sapphire -- from Neiman Marcus at a discounted price (25 percent off).

@Michael Olson Bodacious and 1907 are my favorites from BTV. I like how the tobacco in Bodacious wraps around the cherry note, plus the rum, cloves and almonds give them that cigar room smell.

@Dave Yer Wow! That's a nice suit. Where did you get it?

@Dave Yer Unfortunately, I may have to get a suit made like that. My Goodwill store doesn't have anything that fly! I live near Charlotte, N.C., so I'll try my luck there. Thank you for sharing!
Leather Jackets!
Hey Gents! Following the recent "leather jacket" giveaways, we noticed some guys mentioned they WANT to rock a leather jacket but it "might not be their style" or that it doesn't work on them. This is totally understandable and as always - we're here to help! Check out this article on How To Style Leather Jackets to never have this problem again 😉

I own a dozen leather jackets, and I love wearing them during the fall and winter seasons. I own several brown jackets in different styles, including a car coat with a sash belt, a snakeskin-embossed blazer, a jacket with faux shearling, a heavy tan blazer, a suede racer and a brown-and-black combination with color blocks. Then I own a burgundy two-button blazer, a springtime-based three-button black blazer, a black three-quarters jacket, a springtime green jacket, a yellow winter bomber, and a blue racing jacket. My oldest leather jacket is nearly 30 years old and my newest jacket is three years old. Most of my jackets are at least 15 years old. I keep them moisturized and conditioned every six to nine months, so they should last for life.
What are you dressed up for?
Very often I get questions of "what are you dressed up for?" Or "what's the occasion?" And I've never quite figured out how to properly answer that without sounding self important. Do any of you get these questions? If so how do you answer them? It's possible that since I'm a youth people are more curious as to what the occasion is, since it's rare to see younger guys dressed well.

I constantly get that question, especially when I wear a suit (which I wear daily as a high school teacher). Depending on the situation, I give one of two responses. Response A: "I want to represent the best image possible for myself and who I am with, because you never know who you may impress." Response B: "My family worked hard, but never got a chance to wear a suit to work. So I'm honoring them for making the road easier for me."
