Acquisition OR Client Results? (as a beginner)
Throughout my recent smma journey I have always battled with this thought of "I need client results/testimonials if I want to start charging monthly retainers" but I am unsure if it is a faulty belief or not that could potentially hold me back. As a knock-on effect, when I do get a client on board (on a pay-per-performance deal ofc) I start to battle between whether I should focus on outreach or service delivery or both. And I know what some of you guys might say is to focus on both, work the whole day. and YES I have tried that whilst working a job. So my time is limited. I feel like whenever I try to do outreach and service delivery my service delivery suffers because I am not putting 100% onto it and whenever I focus on just service delivery my client acquisition suffers as an obvious result. My question is do you guys think it is worth it to focus 100% on your first few clients to gain testimonials from them and then start doing outreach again? In my opinion: when I got my first client (on a complete pay per performance deal) and I got them results i felt like it was 100x more easier to convince people to buy my services but at the same time I know just how important outreach is to a business.
