Technology Frustration
I have been trying all day to finish getting a video edited that folk have asked for about how I draw on procreate and turn it into a texture roller. Long story short I filmed the process thinking I could voice over only to discover that I can’t say what needs to be said in the time it needs to be done. I have bits and pieces but I don’t like it and every time I go to do something I know how to do it no longer works or is in a different place. I think technology is moving way faster than I can keep up. So lesson learned. I will start over again tomorrow and just talk while I go through the process. Does anyone else find things more complicated than they should be?

So glad that you have the opportunity to take such an amazing trip. I’m jealous but happy for you.
Do You Have a Portable 'Studio'?
I know you. I see you with your hands in the mud and those tools at arms reach. I'd bet that some of you (me too) make things away from traditional studio settings...because we truly enjoy the fun/creative energy. Having said that, I'm picturing my basic 'portable' studio that has found itself outside on a deck, sitting in a chair next to a campfire, and resting next to a creek with my feet in the water. For making small whistles and tone sculptures, here is what you see in the image on this post: - A lightweight lapboard - A sealable container for slip/scraps - My custom tool for making airway tubes for flutes - A couple of sharps/blades for carving/shaping/smoothing - Cleanup brush (and small sponge - not pictured) - Clay (just a small bag, may a 1lb or 0.5kg) Of course there are challenges... transporting delicate greenware, keeping pieces moist, and asking oneself if this is just 'nutz' šŸ˜‰ If you have a 'portable work set-up', what does yours include, and what challenges have you faced if/when working remotely.

I’m also a lover of the 60’s music. It’s music that you can really sing along to.

My husband is a long haul truck driver so is away about 20 days a month. I find it comforting knowing that when I look up at the moon, he is seeing the same one. It makes me feel connected to him in a way.
Hi everybody, I'm new here🤩
Hello everyone, I'm new here and I'm very excited to "meet" you all in this community. My name is Corna, 53 years young and I'm a hobby potter from Berkel en Rodenrijs in the Netherlands. For years a went to a pottery studio to learn and play with clay and since a year now, I have my own studio at home and my own kiln, lucky mešŸ˜. So now I make my pottery at home, anytime I can. I also go to the pottery studio to meet up with the girls, can't miss that. I handbuilt all my pottery and I really am addicted to glazing and buying glazes but that counts for probably all of usšŸ˜‡ And talking about addictions....watching youtube is an other onešŸ˜… Well that's it for now, I post all that comes out of my kiln on my instragram @cornastuinhuisje of you're interested😊 Bye and have a nice day! Ps. english is not my daily languagešŸ˜…

Welcome Corna. I’m also a hobby potter. Your work is beautiful. I love the Netherlands. My youngest daughter lived in Den Burg on Texel for 5 years while studying for her PhD at NIOZ so we got to visit each year that she was there. I absolutely adore the culture and the people. I think you will love this group of fellow potters. Everyone is fantastic.
The Journey South Beginsā„ļø
My journey toward Antarctica has begun. Today I spent a day in Buenos Aires before heading to Ushuaia tomorrow — the southernmost city in the world. And then, on Saturday, I finally board the ship. Today in Buenos Aires I found a wonderful pottery shop where different artists sell their work. I checked the opening hours beforehand, but the shop was still closed when I arrived. I’m honestly a little sad about it, because I would have loved to bring something back with me.🧳 I did manage to catch a few glimpses through the window though — and if you ever find yourself here, there is definitely art to be discovered. I’ll check in again soon and keep you posted.
