Grog or No Grog
Do most people use clay with or without grog for mugs/cups? Also trinket dishes?
SECONDS
I would like your help on taking a vote please. Is it ok to sell wobbly trinket dishes as seconds? The glazing is great…they’re just not flat. 50% off the price. What is your vote? Yay or Nay?

@Nancy Myrick I’m with you on that…but…I have a stamp with the place that it was made, on the bottom. That’s a very important aspect of the piece, and it will get sanded off if I do that. I’ve recently started pushing in the bottom of the pieces a little bit, and that gives me some leeway when I sand the bottoms now….because the stamp is in the recess for the most part. Still working on not having the wobbles in the first place 😔.

What 3 pottery tools are your Ride or Die......
I would love to know from everyone what 3 pottery tools would you chose that you can't live without if you could only have 3 for the rest of your pottery life? Mine are : Mud tools red rib , Mud tools white sponge , DCT pear shaped trimming tool.

Bluish needle tool with the scoring tool on the other end. Rim cutting tool (can't remember the name). Not a tool, but vinegar instead of slip.

I’m adding to my previous 3….slab roller if you’re using a lot of slabs, especially large slabs.
A Very Old Challenge... Finally.
Many months ago, Pat suggested that we make something in a way you normally wouldn't make it. So here, I've made a base that looks coil built (it's thrown and carved) and finished to look like crackle raku with copper inside (using Cone 6 glazes). I hope you like it. PS Make sure you zoom in!

Now that’s a well thought out design!
