Sugar Cravings are my Kryptonite
Gotta figure out a way to kick this addiction

Someone brought a tray of paddl- shaped cookies to pickleball this morning. With an icing ball on top of the icing covering the whole paddle. I mean........ would have been rude not eat one right?!? 😭 But yeah, cutting out sugars at home is tough. I don't know if it's true or not, but a little honey seems healthier than sugar, so I'll sub that in sometimes. Although I once heard a guest on NPR say sugar is sugar no matter what the food is, but oh well..... I'm going with portion control winning out over the (cold turkey + rebound binge eating). When I obsess over NOT eating something, it never seems to last. Compared to cutting it down 90% seems realistic and possible for the duration of this challenge.
Glasses
I hate wearing them and usually hope a ball cap will keep me safe. But, as I’m getting to higher levels with faster play, I know I should get some. What do you wear and love?

I tried a few different styles and brands and finally landed on SooGree Sport Glasses, because they work great WITH THE LENSES POPPED OUT. No more sweat drips or fogging problems. Perfect vision on the ball. Rounded edges. Headband (I set mine really loose so I can't feel it) keeps them from ever falling off. Soft around the nose too, so if a fast ball does hit, the glasses frames won't leave a mark. $27 on Amazon.
First official check in next Monday 4/13
Want to make sure you guys get at least a full week in before we begin the check-ins. Hope you had a good first couple of days and a happy Easter for those who celebrate. When we do check ins, I will share the instructions and form via email as well as on Skool so you can't miss it. For now, let's use this thread as your "unofficial check-in" for the week. How's everybody been doing?

I keep reminding myself PORTION CONTROL is better for me VS saying NO to foods I love. Stay strong my friends!
👋 Introduce Yourself — Who's In?
The Lefty Reset starts April 1 and I want to know who I'm doing this with. Drop a comment below and introduce yourself. Tell us: 1. Your name and where you're from 2. How long you've been playing pickleball (or if you're just fitness-focused) 3. One thing you want to change in the next 60 days 4. Your DUPR rating (optional — no pressure!) 5. One fun fact about you! I'll go first. I'm Nico, based in Reno, NV. I've been playing pickleball for 3.5 years and coaching for 2. In the next 60 days I want to drop 30lbs and have more energy for my 1 year old daughter. Let's get it! Reply below 👇 and go comment on at least 2 other people's posts. This community wins together.

Mark Te Tai - Neenah, Wisconsin Racquetball and Platform Tennis background, and like so many others, got into Pickle during COVID. At height of addiction, was playing 5-6 times per week, but had to cut back due to knee problems from all the court time. For last year or two, have cut back to 2-3 times per week and am trying to drop weight and increase flexibility........ all so I can enjoy playing more Pickle without constantly worrying about injuries.

@Justin Smith Don't over do it and get too sexy for your wife..... I mean just being pickleball players already makes us all at least 8s or 9s.
Week 1 Goal — Drop it below 👇
We're just getting started and I want to know: what's the ONE small change you're committing to this week? It doesn't have to be perfect. It doesn't have to be big. It just has to be yours. Maybe it's: - Drinking more water every day - Hitting 5,000 steps - Getting to the gym at least once - Cutting out the late-night snacking Small changes compound. One good week turns into two, two turns into a month, and before you know it you're a different person on and off the court. So tell me: what's your Week 1 goal? Post it below. We're all going to cheer each other on. That's what this community is for. Let's go. 🙌

No more eating/snacking after 830pm.... just water or zero calorie drinks during those last couple of hours of the night. Cutting out those cheat snacks should be good, but should help with acid reflux too.
