Tough workout this morning! Felt good. Then I made a less than ideal decision for dinner and made a frozen pizza. Bright side is that I only had 2 pieces and a few months ago I would have housed it all for sure! Don’t feel great about it but not discouraged either. Right back on track! Who else has made some poor decisions recently and how did you rebound?

My mom is going through some medical stuff and I find I do a lot of emotionally charged eating after her appointments. I try to do the same thing- instead of eating the entirety of an order, boxing half of it right away. By the time I’ve hovered the 1st half, I’ve calmed down and can start being rational again. Portions make a huge difference!

@Andrew Woolwine thank you. It was a tough one yesterday, but I did find out that Applebee’s has chicken fettuccine Alfredo in a children’s meal that comes with broccoli and a drink for $7. It was the perfect amount without undoing the rest of my diet! And I did get it to go, so I didn’t feel weird about ordering a kids portion lol.
Trying to go Soda-Free
Something is slowing down my weight loss. I have used this diet in the past and it worked really well. This time it is not working so well and the only thing that has changed (besides my age and being post menopausal), is the additional amount of sugar free sodas that I am guzzling down in large quantities every day. So now I am making a promise to myself that I will reduce the number of sugar-free sodas that I drink to 1 x 330ml Coke Zero or Sprite Zero per day and no more than 1 x 330ml Soda Water per day. Other than that only water (or water with electrolytes when I am exercising). I know it’s not going to be easy - but I really want to lose this excess weight and I know I CAN!!!

I find there are certain foods I pair pop with and if I limit those, I limit my want for soda. Good luck! It’s not an easy one to kick, but you can do it!
We should do a PPA ATL group Meetup!
Who’s going to be at the PPA Tour: 2026 Veolia Atlanta Pickleball Championships?

Come to BCO in July!
Keep going!!
I've been counting my calories and macros religiously, playing pickleball, walking, lifting weights. Week 1 I was #20 on the leaderboard. Week 2 I don't exist but Im still losing 1 to 2 pounds a week. I feel great(which is key) It's healthy. It's sustainable and I'm not hungry. I'm still enjoying life. I'm not expecting to be a big winner in this contest. I never did. It's hard to lose the last 15 which is where I am after a lot of hard work. I just needed this hive mind to get going. But I do notice very few women on the Leaderboard. Are there less of us signed up? Maybe. Men drop weight faster. Their metabolisms are just different. I think in the future, it's better to divide us into 2 groups for fairness. That's just my 2 cents. Having said that, it's pretty exciting to see so many people trying to do better for themselves. Keep going!

Yep. The last 10-15 are stubborn ah. I wish I had some great inspirational tip, but I think we just have to keep going and trust that it will come.
What's Your Nickname on the Courts?
Nicknames? I thought this would be a fun question for today. Do any of you have a nickname on the courts? I have been called #locotara as I use the Loco paddle. Well, maybe other reasons too. lol

Pickleball is one of the few things I care enough about to have opinions.
