Why Sidekicks DON'T Work... explained
Hey boys, I used to LOVE sidekicks, but the more experienced I've got, the less I use them. You see, the sidekick used to be one of my go to's, but the higher level I spar, the more likely I get punished for trying. In this video, I outline a few reasons why I personally dislike the sidekick for K1 or Muay Thai, I also outline the best times to be throwing it. There is a time and a place to be throwing them, but at the end of the day I feel like they are a 'high risk, low reward' technique. Let me know in the comments what you think :)

@Shea Hammond awesome I think the sidekick is definitely an acquired taste, I'd like to use it in my traditional side stance, cause I will switch to a boxing stance and go back to a kicking stance. but it has to be advanced for it to be effective when I get some time I'll share some old footage of me using it in tournaments! I have a lot of Sparring footage as well

@Shea Hammond also throwing a good hook kick is a good tool as well because it's hard to differentiate between the two.. if you throw it fast and accurate , it makes both of them more effective very little telegraphing, and the starting point is the same!!
