GOSPEL IN A SINGLE VERSE
2 Corinthians 5:21 “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” is often called the clearest, one sentence explanation of the gospel because it shows the entire salvation story in one verse. Sin causes the separation from God and the guilt and shame we feel before God. Our sin needs to be gone and not ignored. How does this happen? 1. God sent us a perfect Savior, His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus lived a sinless life. He knew no sin. Jesus lived in perfect obedience to God. That made Him uniquely qualified to stand in the place of sinners. 2. Jesus was sent to be sin for us on the cross. Jesus took our place and bore our judgment we so rightly deserved. 3. This shows the Great Exchange. I learned this at the men's conference I went to. The Great Exchange is sin placed on Christ. Christ's righteousness is given to believers. 4. It Explains the result: Righteousness “So that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” Through faith in Christ, believers are: forgiven declared righteous restored to relationship with God. (The veil was torn.) Simple Gospel Summary: This verse teaches us- Jesus took the sin we deserved so we could receive the righteousness we could never earn. That’s the heart of the gospel in a single verse. Have you thought about giving your only child up to take on something of this magnitude? Do you ever think about what Jesus went through before He was ever nailed to the cross?

Darkness to Light
2 Peter 2:9 Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment I went to a men's conference at church today and prayed for God to give me something. He gave me so much and more. We had 4 different different Pastors speak on different subjects about being a man in Christ. This verse was mentioned and the Pastor explained it in detail and caught my attention right away. It's about going from the darkness into light. God rescues people, through the trials they are going through. Let me tell you how my troubles started. My mom, sister and I moved in with my Grannie when I was 6 because we needed help. My Grannie and I were very close. She got diagnosed with breast cancer in 1994. Through treatment the cancer went into in remission. In 1998 the cancer came back, but this time it was worse. For 2 months I watched my Grannie slowly die in front of me. On the night she passed away, I was 5 minutes late and I didnt get a chance to say I love you to her. She was laying in bed with machines still hooked up with no life. When I walked out of the room I felt a light turn off inside me and I was filled with guilt and anger. That night started my downward spiral that would last for the next 15 years. I suffered depression, started using pills to numb the pain and having suicidal thoughts. Taking the pills turned into addiction, the suicidal thoughts turned into me attempting to a suicide attempt. I was sent to a psychiatric hospital where I was diagnosed bipolar. Fast forward to August 2913, God led me to a church and gave my life to the Lord. On December 28,2013 I fell off roof and hit my head on concrete. I suffered a traumatic brain injury with a severe brain bleed. I was given no chance to survive, but God saved me. He brought me into the light. Instantly delivered from bipolar, suicidal thoughts and addiction. I have had no symptoms or relapse of pills in past 12 years. God: -sees the struggles of believers

It is 💯 true God sees the struggles of the real believers
1 John 1:9
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” This verse is a promise that when we honestly own up to what we’ve done wrong, God won’t hold it against us. God forgives and wipes the slate clean because that’s who he is. The verse highlights two aspects of God’s character: faithfulness (he keeps his word to forgive) and justice (forgiveness is grounded in Christ’s sacrifice) The verse is treated it as a reminder for believers that confession restores fellowship and brings cleansing. This verse could be used as an invitation to give their lives to Christ. Basically, it encourages honesty with God and assures us that forgiveness is already on the table. Confession of your sins requires you to be completely honest. God already knows what sin you have committed. God is wanting you to come to Him with complete honest honesty. There is no reason to tippy toe around the truth. Remember this verse is a promise. God never breaks His promise. That is part of His character. What sin do you need to confess? How would it feel not to carry that sin around with you?
