AOD 9604: Understanding the Mechanisms + Hype? 🧬
Deep Dive: AOD 9604. Let's break down AOD 9604 and how it actually works in the body. What is AOD 9604? AOD 9604 (Advanced Obesity Drug) is a modified fragment of human growth hormone (HGH), specifically the C-terminal fragment of amino acids 176-191. It was originally developed to replicate HGH's fat-burning effects WITHOUT the growth-promoting side effects. Key Mechanisms of Action: 1. Lipolysis Stimulation AOD 9604 directly stimulates the breakdown of fat cells (adipocytes) by mimicking the way natural HGH regulates fat metabolism. It triggers lipolysis—the process where stored triglycerides are broken down into free fatty acids and glycerol. 2. Inhibits Lipogenesis Not only does it break down fat, but it also PREVENTS new fat formation. AOD 9604 inhibits lipogenesis (the creation of new fat from carbohydrates and proteins), creating a double-hit effect on fat reduction. 3. Metabolic Enhancement It increases metabolic rate, meaning your body burns more calories at rest. This happens without significantly affecting blood sugar levels or causing insulin resistance—a major advantage over full HGH. 4. No Growth Hormone Effects This is crucial: AOD 9604 does NOT bind to growth hormone receptors, so you don't get the potential downsides of elevated HGH like: - Insulin resistance - Joint pain - Carpal tunnel - Potential organ growth Why It Matters: The beauty of AOD 9604 is its targeted approach. You get the fat-burning benefits of growth hormone without the complications. It's particularly effective for stubborn fat areas that resist traditional diet and exercise. Research Notes: Studies have shown AOD 9604 to be well-tolerated with minimal side effects. It's been extensively researched for obesity treatment and has demonstrated consistent fat loss results, particularly in visceral (belly) fat. Typical Research Dosing Protocol: SubQ Administration: - Research dosing: 300mcg per day - Typically split into two doses (morning and pre-bed) - Or single dose in the morning on an empty stomach - Administered subcutaneously (belly fat, thigh, etc.) - Commonly cycled for 8-12 weeks

I know AOD gets a lot of mixed reviews, but for me, combined with my glp1, it works. I inject first thing in the morning and run it about 4 weeks and then off about 8.
Back to Tirz
I was on Tirz for 3 years, heard great things about Reta so I tried it. After 3 months, it's just not for me and I'm switching back. Anyone else do the same? Did you wait a certain amount of time before starting back on the Tirz? (Low dose, of course)

@Beth Lee I think tirz just works better for me, for whatever reason. I even tried sema a few years ago and hated it. Way too many side effects.

@Ashlin Wooten My thoughts, too.
⚡️Unlimited Energy Guide: Breaking Down SS-31, MOTS-C, NAD+, and 5-Amino-1MQ
If you're on GLP-1s and feeling the energy drain, you're not alone. Let's break down four mitochondrial powerhouses that can help restore your cellular energy production. SS-31 (Elamipretide) What it does: This is your mitochondrial membrane protector. SS-31 targets cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane, optimizing the electron transport chain and reducing oxidative stress. Energy benefits: - Improves ATP production efficiency by 20-40% - Reduces mitochondrial dysfunction that causes fatigue - Particularly effective for exercise capacity On GLPs: SS-31 can counter the metabolic slowdown some people experience. Since it directly improves mitochondrial function rather than increasing fuel availability, it works synergistically with GLP-1s' metabolic effects. Injectable Protocol: 1.25-5mg subcutaneous daily for 2-4 weeks, then reassess MOTS-c What it does: A mitochondrial-derived peptide that acts like a "mitochondrial stress signal," improving metabolic flexibility and insulin sensitivity. Energy benefits: - Enhances glucose uptake independent of insulin - Improves fat oxidation for sustained energy - Activates AMPK pathways (your cellular energy sensor) On GLPs: This is a standout combo. MOTS-c improves insulin sensitivity and metabolic flexibility, which can offset muscle loss concerns and metabolic adaptation on GLP-1s. Many report stable energy throughout the day rather than crashes. Injectable Protocol: 0.5-1mg subcutaneous daily (note: some protocols use 3-5mg per day, but this isn't typically necessary) NAD+ Injectable What it does: Direct NAD+ replenishment for immediate cellular energy support. Energy benefits: - Critical cofactor for ATP production - Required for sirtuin activation (longevity/energy pathways) - Depletes with age and metabolic stress On GLPs: NAD+ levels can drop with caloric restriction. Supplementing helps maintain energy production capacity, supports fat oxidation, and may reduce the "flat" feeling some report on GLP-1s.

Injected in the morning, fasted, MOTS-c gives me energy all day. No mid-afternoon crash, at all!

@K A doing between .5 and 1 every other day. I don't use it on weekends, usually.
How To Handle Package Issues With Research Companies 📦
I am going to use this scenario as a teaching opportunity for all of you, as I have seen many unpleasant customer emails in this industry. My package from Alpha Omega was marked as delivered by FedEx yesterday, and I never received anything. As you can see from the video, the driver pretty much stole it. Instead of getting mad at Alpha Omega I: 1. Filed a Claim with FedEx 2. Reached out to Alpha Omega's customer service email 3. Now I wait for around 24 hours (It's Sunday, I don't need or want a response today, everyone has lives) 4. I will send a follow-up email on Monday night if I don't hear anything back Give these companies time, and I guarantee you they will work to make the situation right. Even if someone on their end messed up, we are all humans and make mistakes. Sometimes companies are not kind back, but trust me, being patient and kind will only benefit you. Hope this helps. I will update the thread to show you how they respond.

I have always been impressed with their products, but every time I order, my package takes 5 days, not the 2 day shipping they advertise.
Reta
Anyone not have Reta work for them? I came off Tirz and have slowly titrated Reta. I am final at 4mg a week and microdosing. Finally feeling some appetite suppression. I have not lost a single pound since starting in June.

I am in panic mode since switching to Reta. I was on Tirz for 3 years, never the highest doses, but had heard great things about Reta. I've gained about 2 lbs every week...3 weeks in. I keep hearing wait it out, but I'm having a hard time doing that.
