First Time Ever
I finished my swim lessons and tried swimming laps for the first time ever. You have to schedule the lanes and I didn't know what number was what, but when I got to the pool I told the lifeguard that it was my first time swimming laps or ever swimming in the deep end and I wanted to be next to the wall... just in case. He kindly switched me to the correct lane and ... I did it! Now I know that I can do it! I get tired really quickly because the breathing thing is hard for me when swimming freestyle. I will continue to work on that, but I am really proud after being afraid to be in water over my head for years. I am grateful for the lessons I learned from you about getting acclimated to water and swimming underwater. Also the lessons about how to breathe before even getting into the water. I believe that both those lessons helped me tremendously. The lessons they give at the Y are good but I guess they have to push everyone to the next step quickly just by the nature of things. Thank you Coach Jeff and Coach Meredith.

Hi Coach. Managed to get into our splash pool today and practiced this drill a number of times feeling pretty happy with it not perfect yet !!! Thank you
Today at the pool
Thank you Coach for last nights video very good. I set my alarm for 22:45 BST I went to my local pool again this morning. I was able to practice front float and glide in the main pool but not the pull down. I can do it standing in my kitchen but not in the pool yet as I can’t stand in my pool. I am trying and I managed a couple of pull downs but I think they were to fast !! I wonder if there is a way of doing them in deeper water ??? I’m hoping I can get a chance to use the splash pool soon as it’s been closed when I’ve been at pool. Thanks again first time I’ve ever thought I might ‘get it’

@Miella Bedell I also feel excited that I might get there !!! I’ve watched the videos as well and they make a lot of sense ! It must be horrible having a fear of water but the way the Coach shows how to do it looks really good you’ll do it !!!! I’ve been wanting to be able to swim freestyle for a long time. I’m lucky in that I don’t fear the water. I cannot stand up in any part of my local pool as even the shallow end is over my head I’m 4’10 !! I’ve been going over the front float and the front glide I’m quite happy with that but I can’t get the front breath part yet !!! We have a splash pool for our Aqua fit but it’s closed for adults til after the school holidays. So I’ll carry on practicing in the main pool. Good luck Miella
