How About You?
I thought it would be fun for us to share a bit more details about ourselves by answering any (or all) of the questions below. @Alex Pfeffer , as the founder of this great community, it would be wonderful if you could kick things off as the first participant 🙂. 1. Which role best describes you in the music industry? 2. Do you play (or have you played) an instrument? For how long? 3. What’s your background in music theory? 4. Who’s your favorite composer or artist? 5. What’s your favorite genre to create in? 6. What’s your dream project? 7. How much time per week do (or can) you spend on music? 8. Do you actively look for new projects? If yes, how? 9. Do you currently earn from your music? 10. What do you mainly do for a living? 11. What do you do when you get stuck in the creative process? 12. What’s your proudest musical achievement so far? 13. Anything else you’d like to share, like a fun fact about you we wouldn’t guess?

1. Music composer and session singer 2. Electric Guitar 30+ years, basic piano 5 years 3. 4 years private guitar lessons, 3 years vocal training, thousands of hours YouTube 4. Alan Silvestri, Chopin, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath 5. Hybrid Trailer Music, Heavy Metal 6. Metal Trailer Album, feat. my own vocals 7. 6-7 hours per day 8. No, but I’m about to change that. LinkedIn I found very good connecting with people in the business with, but cold emails is something I want to do more (in a targeted and strategic way of course) 9. Yes, but mainly as a session singer. The goal is entering the trailer music business now as a composer/producer 10. Music 100% (but had a whole career in international logistics for over 20 years until 2018) 11. Go for a walk, take a nap, talk to people 12. Deciding to quit my 9-to-5 job and focusing on my music 100% 13. I was into surfing back in Brazil and couldn’t wait for a long weekend to go down there with some friends. Moved to Switzerland, thought snowboarding could be a way to go, but it was a huge mistake 😄
It's Trailer Music Feedback Time!
As the title says, feel free to post your trailer music tracks in here (meaning, as a reply to THIS post to avoid chaos) and I will try to give as helpful feedback as possible. Please, let's stick to trailer music tracks only as we will also have other sessions for video games, ads and other styles as well etc. I would also appreciate if it would be one track each for now, so there is a fair chance for everyone to get equal feedback :) GO! PS: I am not trying to hold back, nor try to be nice or mean. I will try to give as realistic feedback as if you would get from any trailer music production company out there.

Hi @Alex Pfeffer , here's a track I did recently. I'm always a bit on the fence with guitars in trailers, as I don't hear much to be honest, but on the other hand, being mainly a guitar player, I'm always kind of struggling with the fact of leaving out my main instrument, so not sure your take on this... Same would go to vocals, as I'm a singer too, but apart from some trailerized versions of popular songs, more often than not I just leave it out (or use such female vocalises like in this track), so I always keep asking myself whether I'm not doing myself a favour neglecting something I could do to differentiate myself from the crowd, or actually better just keep following what seems to be working to others (which normally would not feature those...). As always, thanks for your time and support!
Real Life TV Usage of Trailer Music
Hey everyone, just checked my Trqk account and found that Final Eclipse from my latest Epic Score album was used in the show WWE Night of the Champions. However, the main reason why I am sharing this here: It is a good example on how they made use of the gaps and why the sound design/signature sounds are really important. Note the following: 00:13 - Using the gap to deliver the first message "Even better!" 00:40 - Using another gap later in the track for the final message "Just stop me!" 00:46 - the distorted higher roar and the last ping sound Sorry for the bad video quality, but these snippets are always included in Trqk to let you actually watch the scene your music has been used for. Always make sure to have: - an easy to digest melody - act1 - act2 - act3 - separated by gaps (build-up could vary) - sound design or sense making signature sounds/sound patterns - a clear focus on ONE SINGLE SENSE-MAKING IDEA

Need professional and dramatic profile pictures? - Try this!
Hey music crafting people, in case you need some great profile pictures or anything, try this in ChatGPT. Upload a selfie, then use this prompt: A cinematic double exposure of a man in profile, with a post-apocalyptic cityscape inside his silhouette. The inner scene shows the man walking through a destroyed, burning urban street, buildings in ruins, glowing embers and fire, with a dramatic sunset in the background. Moody lighting, warm tones, emotional and introspective mood, high detail, 8K resolution Another example would be: Create a high-contrast black and white close-up portrait of the referenced man. The image should depict only the left half of his face, partially submerged in water, with water droplets and bubbles visible on his skin and hair. Illuminate the left side of the face dramatically, casting the rest into deep shadow. dark background. detail in skin texture, beard stubble, and eye focus to evoke a moody cinematic atmosphere. I:1 orientation Both results attached to this post.
