Why Your Demo Reel Isn’t Enough (And What To Build Instead)
Most speakers treat their demo reel like it’s the entire business. It’s not. A demo reel is just the front door—it grabs attention, but it doesn’t build momentum on its own. Without a full speaker system behind it, even the best reel just collects dust. Here’s the real reason talented speakers stay invisible: Great content doesn’t get you booked. Great systems do. You need a complete ecosystem: → A demo reel that tells a story → Content that’s deployed everywhere decision-makers look → A marketing system that moves people from “Who are you?” to “Where do I sign?” If your reel is buried three clicks deep on your website, unpinned on LinkedIn, or sitting forgotten in Dropbox, you’re invisible—and invisible speakers don’t get booked. Buyers today loop through three stages: Exploration → Evaluation → Experience. If you’re missing from any stage, you’re forgotten. Here’s the tactical fix: - Pin your reel to your LinkedIn profile - Feature it above the fold on your website - Embed it in your email signature - Deploy it during outreach - Submit it to every speaker bureau you find Visibility = Trust. Trust = Bookings. You don’t just need another video—you need a Speaker Visibility System. Question for you: Where is your demo reel right now? Is it working as part of a system—or is it collecting dust? Drop your thoughts below. Let’s fix it together.

@CJ Janzen thank you for the feedback! The way I talk is both a mix of my accent and I have autism. Have been working on the clarity of my words and tone, while still not taking away from being authentically who I am.

@Lucia Harper thank you! The videographer also mentioned during the shoot my hand placement and this is the version which includes the best shots. I’ll keep this feedback in mind. I intend to record it again either 3 or 5 years from now.

I use phrases like “am I the only one who. . . .?” And “raise your hand if you feel like. . .?”

@Cam Beaudoin without a large group of friends and endless meditation is a perfect mix of the two. I have noticed both in my own personal life and the life of my target audience, that most people do not want to meditate for an hour a day or currently have a supportive group of people
