Strat -vs- Les Paul
I've been playing guitar for 50+ years and have always played Strat style guitars. Today's weapon of choice is a 2005 American Deluxe Strat. I typically play blues, rock, funk, Floyd, etc style music. It's hard to believe that I never have had a Les Paul in my hands. Should I bother? 🤔

@Scott Mahan That's an influencing reply... Now I have to go for it with a LP!

What was your weekends like? New music ? A new venue? A new Guitar? I was given a Zager Acoustic Guitar.!

@Kristopher Swenson I fooled around with the truss rod on my Zager. It adjusted easily, however, the booming resonance has only been achieved with heavier gauge strings, which requires the string height to be higher than I typically like to play, to avoid string buzz. I still wouldn't get rid of the guitar... it's a beauty. Yours is looking good too! BTW, "given a Zager guitar". How did that happen?

stringjoy Balanced Ultra Light Signatures 7-38
well, stringjoy has just started advertising a new string. Balanced Ultra Light Signatures 7-38. dont know about anyone else, .008's are light enough i would think. i cant imagine playing a .007 . i think staying in tune and breakage would be an issue. but i could be wrong. im used to playing and bending 13's. is this a string any of you all would be interested in?? Orianthi maybe. LOL

I only use Stringjoy "Signatures" nickel wound strings on my Strat. I tried all different gauges and have narrowed it down to 8.5, 11,15, 30, 38, 50. I stretch the hell out of them and I haven't broken one yet. 😎

On my strat, I use StringJoy Signatures .085, .011, .015, .031, .038, .050. Not too conventional, but just right for me! 😎
Found a Band
I finally found a band that I could join if I wanted to, but they just aren't a good fit for me. The singer is the leader and he has no idea how to lead a band. He kust keeps rotating different people on different days. It's almost like he has 2 different bands going bexause he can't choose between drummrs and bass players. I also really wouldn't have fun playing about 95 percent of the songs he wants to play. Sucks, but I feel like I have to pass and keep looking, even though I have found nothing in my area that is even remotely what I am looking for.

A few years back I posted on nextdoor.com that I was looking for some people to jam with and I included the type of music that I like to play. I had numerous people respond and we got together and made it happen. At that time, I wasn't looking to form a band and I posted that, as well. Maybe you can try that and see what results you get. Of course, add that you have aspirations of forming a band. This is a nonconventional way of getting to a group of people that may be thinking the same way and haven't stepped out of their comfort level to search on sites such as https://www.bandmix.com/. Good luck! 😎
