🎸 Quick question for the crew…
What’s one piece of guitar gear you’ve bought that you immediately had to show your friends when they came over? Not the most expensive thing you own — the one that made you say: “Yo, check this out.” Could be: - A pedal - A weird little gadget - A mod - A piece of décor - Something small but just cool Please be specific, and feel free to post a picture of it so we can all see it. I’m asking because I want this community to help shape the kind of gear we bring into Omni Guitars. Stuff that makes people curious, sparks conversations, and actually gets used. Drop one item (or a few if you can’t choose 😄) and tell me why you love it. Let’s build this together 🤘

@Emerson Pakar why not get out of here instead of trying to scam people. Taylor Parkhurst can we get rid of this guy?
Thinking too much
I’ve tried to learn finger picking for several years. As long as I’m not really thinking about my fingers and trying to stay in rhythm/time, I can do ok. But the second I lapse and focus my thoughts on my fingers, it all goes south. Usually only a minute or two. How can I keep my fingers going in rhythm for an extended period of time??? I thought it would come with time and practice, but I’m not so sure anymore.

All I can say is practice, practice, and more practice. It might come down to being a weakness for you that you always struggle with. Everyone has strong points and weak points. I'm not saying you can't or won't accomplish it, but it might be a constant struggle to get there. I'm pretty solid at fingerpicking, but I totally struggle with shredding solos. I never seem to get better at the hair metal style solos and shredding no matter how much I try. I never give up though. Just keep working at it. Start slow and increase the speed as you get more consistent with it. That does help.
Thank you
Just wanted to say thank you to Taylor and the admins for letting me back in.

@Shawn Kirkham thank you. Glad to be back.
What Are Your Thoughts on Smart Guitars? 🤔🎸
I’ve been diving into some new gear ideas lately, and I’m curious where the community stands on smart guitars — instruments with built-in tech, apps, onboard effects, learning tools, etc. Some players love the innovation… others feel like it takes away from the raw, traditional guitar experience. I can see both sides, which is why I want to hear from you. Do smart guitars actually solve real problems for guitarists? Would you ever own one — or do you already? What features would make a smart guitar worth it? Drop your thoughts below. I’m really interested to hear the honest opinions from this group.

Anything that helps people learn is great, but I feel like from a real player standpoint, they are too gimmicky. There is just too much fake stuff going on and people don't need real talent or skill to sound good. Kind of like autotune for guitar. Just my opinion, but I will stick with real guitars that require me to know how to play.
I have a performance
Don't exactly have anything to "show" but I've got something to tell I've been in college for a month now and I've join nearly all of my schools ensembles including both choirs, orchestra, and jazz improv playing bass in both. I have my first concert for orchestra this Friday and I've got a little bit of jitters. Im playing the upright bass for 2 songs and its still an instrument that's a little new to me and then my Jackson bass for 1 song. Just kind of wanted to share and see what some of you do before a performance and help cool you down.

When I first started playing in front of crowds my jitters were horrible. The best thing for me back then was to just ignore the crowd and don't look out at the people. Just focus on me and my guitar and do what I have to do. It didn't take long for the anxiety to go away and after that I was just having a blast at every gig I played.

I have been playing guitar almost my whole life and still don't feel like I'm very good at it. At 51 I'm still trying to learn and get better.
