How do you store your seeds?
I know this topic has been discussed before, but I think it’s great to hear what works for everyone. I used to keep my seeds randomly in a large envelope or ziplock bag. But when I started gardening again, I realized I like to be able to see my collection. I put everything in old binders with card sleeves. I chose categories that worked for me (Alliums, Brassicas, Flowers, Fruit, Herbs, etc.) I then heard about using an inventory sheet, and that was just the best thing I added. The most important part being expiration dates on the inventory sheet! So now I can look for my oldest seeds on the sheet without having to look at each and every envelope. How do you store your seeds? What didn’t work for you? Please share with pictures!

I store my seeds in along wooden box. Put them in my clothes closet. Cool & dark. I also made an Excel spreed sheet to track the things I want. Eventually the seed box will match the spreed sheet!!

@Julie Vigil I track about 10 things. The nice thing about Excel is that you can add and move things around easily. I’m just learning Excel. Never too late!!!!!!
Seed preparation
Do you do anything special to prep certain seeds before planting to ensure a good germination? If so, which seeds, what do you do, and why? Here’s a video about fermenting tomato seeds prior to planting and why it’s important to get that slick gel-like substance off the seeds for better results. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1Tp9MmjaBu/?mibextid=wwXIfr

@Julie Vigil I don’t do it for my edible peas either. Just sweet peas. They seem to be harder?
