@Dennis Wichter More nature and how nature builds biology... the course was all about above gound to include herbicides and pesticides... not as a major component although less nature and more this is how we control nature.

@Dennis Wichter Yes, it is very main stream... I would say if you introduced yourself at Vegas Master Gardeners, you could be a guest speaker

Really bad wind storm last night
I was so worried about our new hoop houses, and the worms. I didn't sleep a wink last night.

@Dennis Wichter longer yes for more ground space... as I build soil, I will expand. I will probably do some caterpillar tunnels this autumn.

@Dennis Wichter This year I am looking at the regenerative space more like a guild which in our discussions we always have with ground cover and companion planting but from some recent conversations, I'm thinking everytime I make a planting, I need to look at it from a guild perspective. I have carrots and lettuce mixed with tomatoes now, I think I will throw some white clover in the upper mulch to see if it will germinate. Going to mix in basil, leeks, beans, borage, marigold and cucumbers in close proximity to observe how nature handles it. I made an infographic although my spacing will be less than it shows.Thoughts...
Tea VS Extract
Here is a study by Aggregodata. Background: Aggregodata did DNA sequencing (identifying species) on vermicompost. Then they created a Tea and an Extract and did the same DNA sequencing on each liquid and these are the results. I always talk about diversity but i have a question for you..... Which would you pick?

Trellis ideas
HMU with your best trellis or arch ideas/solutions for growing vining plants like cucumbers, peas, or squash. Bonus points if it’s DIY and/or you have pictures 😊 Last year we made bamboo obelisks but they were not nearly big enough for cucumbers or cantaloupes. TIA! - Did you buy it or make it? - What/how many plants did it support? - Easy to install and use? - Any problems? - Would you use it again? Pics are not mine; just for ideas.

@Dennis Wichter I just use the jute string that way I can get them to grow any direction I want. If it gets bushier on one side or the other I can move string one way or another to keep even air flow. I started with a narrower string but did not like that... the jute string from amazon worked much better. With indeterminates, the idea is to keep pruning the lower leaves and continue to lower the stem so they can keep growing up; each time the stem touches the soil it roots giving more internal flow for the plant.

@Julie Vigil Tomatoes do not cling like a bean so I wait until the plant starts to lean itself before I string so I can meander the string through the branches and around the stem. Once the plants get up there, they are heavy on the string. I even, as they grow wrap the string around a branch and stem keeping the string circling the stem as they grow. Another reason for the larger jute string is it is easy on the stem.
