@Mariama Congo So I started gymnastics in August 2024 for the first time. This competition marked my 4th ever one, which was pretty amazing! I can only describe it as incredible, we stayed in the same rooms as our Olympic gymnasts and used the same facility and kit they use at the National Training Centre, to know Iโve used the same equipment Max Whitlock, Jake Jarman etc trained on was insanely cool. ๐ Stepping out you realise just how big the crowds are, there are 100โs of people with banners and cameras. The whole thing was live streamed by British Gymnastics too. Which was surreal as after I finished my floor routine I checked my phone to see literally 20 messages from friends and family who had just watched me live on their TV and laptops. I had to hide myself as a tear came out as honestly I was so emotional when I realised. I quickly learnt to block out the crowds and I managed to focus on me. I gave a good performance all around and did okay, some events where not my best, especially parallel bars, but I also had my best ever scores on floor and high bar. The moment I was announced as 3rd in the country I couldnโt quite believe it!! Iโm still a little in shock, but Iโm now very determined to get the 2nd or British Champion title next year! ๐ช ๐ Technically Iโm a British Team Champion in tumbling too with the rest of my team! But I only contributed a tiny bit to that. ๐
