Hi guys. I have a Plethora x5 and it has cab simulation, so you can apparently go straight out of the effects pedal into a PA. I haven't had the opportunity to try it. Has anyone else tried this type of approach with a similar pedal and setup?
Does anyone here play a 7 string guitar? I have a 7 string and I almost never play it because it throws me off. My fingers are so trained for 6 strings that when I try to play my 7 string, my brain automatically sends my fingers to the 7th string because that string is supposed to be the 6th. I mess up any chords that need the 6th string because I keep playing the 7th instead. I can't seem to get myself trained to play it.
I’ve played a lot of different 7 string models. To get used to it you just have to play it exclusively for a while and find those 7 string patterns and shapes. I prefer the neck width on 7 and 8 string guitars because I have a classical background so the wider necks feel more natural to me.
What genres and styles do you like to play? Give examples of your favorites. As an exclusively acoustic player, I gravitate toward folk, country, and singer-songwriter styles like In The Garden, Longer, and Annie's Song
I spent a couple decades seriously studying classical guitar and jazz/improvisation. My first go at college I was a Jazz major but my passion was classical guitar (the school I was at didn’t have a classical guitar program). I also love metal and was in metal bands in high school. Now after more than 20 years of studying “legit” music I’m recording an original instrumental “metal-ish” album that combines my jazz and classical chops with metal. I have also played a lot of Latin, middle eastern, and Indian music. Now I’m just trying to make music that I enjoy listening to.
I received the Irin wireless transmitter and receiver last week and have been using it every day. There is no difference in sound quality, it tracks great with no noticeable lag time, and it doesn’t pick up any extra noise.
