I’m with Angelina- I miss challenges so much! I’m competitive so they give me that nudge to hold myself accountable. A space to check in with my nutrition too

@Amanda Steele yes!! I’d love that! October please
Recipe: Banana Egg Muffins
These are the easiest to make! I make a batch of 6 every week and I have them after my workouts (I “frost” them with Greek yogurt or protein powder mixed with water if I want a more protein) in a blender: 1 1/2 cups egg whites (from the carton) 1 medium banana (anywhere from 100-120g if you have a food scale) 4 whole eggs Cinnamon to taste (Makes 4 servings; in a 12-muffin pan one serving is 3 muffins) Blend well, then divide evenly in muffin pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 mins depending on your oven (23 honestly works perfectly for ours). (((Note: photo has 6 mini muffins from a mini muffin tin)))

My fav! Having these for breakfasts this week
The value of rest days
At one point in my life I would work out 6 or even 7 days a week. I felt like I had to in order to “earn” my food, not realizing that I was risking injury, overtraining, and exhaustion. I did not value the idea that rest is where the magic happens until I started following fitness plans (AS DESIGNED!) and taking the days to rest or follow active recovery. Once I did begin to see the “magic” that happens when we do allow our body time to recover, repair, and rest (with adequate sleep, proper nutrition, and rest days) I began to believe it for myself. I saw the power of it! One thing that worked for me was training my brain to love the idea of starting Saturdays and Saturdays with a nice, warm, nutritious breakfast & coffee (something I don’t have the luxury of enjoying while I’m rushing off to work during the week). Typically I get up before the boys and it’s also valuable alone and quiet time which I need as an introverted mom. >> since Wesley got older, I now do grocery shopping VERY early on Saturday mornings, before the boys wake up and before most of the world is at Wegmans. I absolutely love this quiet time alone to get our healthy food for the week 🥰🥰 it truly recharges me and fills my cup. My suggestion is to give rest days a chance and replace intense workouts with something like I did - the slow, beautiful start. 🌟Rate yourself on a scale of 1-5 with regard to taking your rest and recovery days. If you’re up near 4 or 5: awesome! 🙌🏼 Keep crushing it & share what works for you! If you’re below a 3… good for you! 👏🏼 You’re here, and you’re practicing self-awareness. What’s your plan to improve and implement more rest in the future! Let us hold you accountable!

Your weekend mornings sound perfect! I also love waking early before my hubby and kids are up and enjoying that first cup of coffee in silence. I still feel some guilt though on rest days, like I should be doing more.
