Ugly Images Are Kicking Videos Ass Right Now (3 to 1 ROAS)
[Weird working ad attached lmao I never thought this would work] Here's something weird - our image ads are crushing video ads right now (like 2-3x better on CPA). And I'm seeing this across ALL our accounts... I'm not just talking about slightly better performance. We're seeing this consistently across: - Private consulting clients - Agency clients - My own campaigns - Local AND nation-wide campaigns. But (there's always a but), there's a specific way to make this work. Let me break down exactly what's working after testing millions in ad spend: - First Up - Size Matters (no matter what they say): 1. Square images only (1200 x 1200 pixels) 2. No landscape format (they get less reach) 3. No portrait format (wastes ad space) Quick tip: If Facebook tries to automatically optimize the size of an ad, just tell it not to and run square image ads everywhere. Now, about those "pretty" ads everyone's obsessing over... Listen, I totally get it. You want good branding or whatever. Especially if you work with big corporate clients. But right now, "ugly" converts better than "pretty" (and it's been like that for a while). Here's what's crushing it right now - I call them "Mini Landing Pages": - The Perfect Formula: 1. Headlines that take up 30-40% of the image 2. Bullet points that highlight key benefits 3. Price points in large, clear font 4. High contrast colors that POP - Colors That Convert: 1. Bright blue on bright yellow 2. Bright red on white 3. Black on bright orange 4. Dark purple on light green - Why these work: 1. They grab attention without being annoying 2. They work in both light and dark mode 3. They stand out in a crowded feed 4. They're readable at a glance Pro tip: Always test your ad in both light and dark mode before launching. What looks great in one might be unreadable in the other. Remember when Facebook would reject ads with too much text? Those days are gone, and now the opposite is true. Here's how we structure these ads:

100% Agree @Hernan Vazquez We tested image ads in 2024.. CPL was roughly the same as video ads. But QUALITY went 110% up. Also our cost per qualified book call dropped to $30 (Initially was around $300). I'll drop the ad example below. Took 5 minute to make in Canva lol.

Stuck in the cycle…
For the last few weeks / months we’ve been fighting with facebook when scaling our campaigns. I’m kind of running out of ideas, so finding some Einstein here who could help is the last chance. Here’s what’s been happening: We produce a new batch of about 5 video ad creatives. Ads get launched with CBO, AP+ (total broad targeting). Day 1 - Good results (20-30$ CPA, 4% CTR, 3-5x ROAS) Day 2 - Good results (21-31$ CPA, 4% CTR, 3-5x ROAS) Day 3 - Good results (22-32$ CPA, 4% CTR, 3-5x ROAS) Amazing results, let’s go scale! Only 10% budget scale so we don’t fuck it up. Combine it with horizontal scale as well (nothing extreme) Day 4 - Good results (23-33$ CPA, 3.5% CTR, 2-4x ROAS) Day 5 - Good results (24-34$ CPA, 3.5% CTR, 2-4x ROAS) Day 6 - Good results (25-35$ CPA, 3.5% CTR, 2-4x ROAS) But then… Something happens. Day 7 - (CPA $100+, Negative ROAS etc…) Ad and the whole campaign is dead. Like in avengers when Thanos snaps the fingers :D So I’m like okay… Let’s do new ads. And the cycle resumes. We’ve been over 38 ad creatives already, going after cold audience. Maximum where I can get it is about 300-400$ daily spend. Even if I don’t scale the campaign and keep the budget same… It still dies… Another thing that bothers me is that I know it is possible to scale further. I did it last year with similar offer, same niche, ads etc… 3k spend daily, 10k revenue daily, 950k generated within couple of months. But now I can’t seem to get to those levels, even when funnel is converting better. What I’m missing? I don’t know. If you have experience with this and solved it please write how. You will for sure get some price if the advice works 😊

@Lukas Sabo You see this a lot Alex talked about this in his older Iron course. Every market has a spend cap. If you go past it , you’ve reached all the available customers in that market for YOUR OFFER. Keywords = your offer . So you have to change the offer to appeal to more sections of that market . Also , remember that we don’t run ads in a vacuum . Your customer see ads from other advertisers . Other advertisers are constantly changing their offer to appeal to more customers . So even if an offer worked last year, so much could have changed in those 12 months to where this offer is no longer KING. Customers become more aware and sophisticated . Their demands change . The most recent example for me was a client who sold a gut health capsule years ago and relaunched theif winning ads now. Their market has gone through 2 HUGE changes since then. Gut health capsules -> Gut health liquid (easier to swallow ) Gut health liquid -> Gut health gummies (Taste better ) I know I didn’t give you media buyer answer you were looking for like try this new targeting or ad creative … But the high level strategy stuff moves the needle more . -Kim
