How the Nervous System Breaks Your Habits
If you’ve ever tried to build a habit and thought, “Why can’t I just stick to this?” this might help. For a long time, I thought my problem was willpower. Or motivation. Or discipline. But what I’ve learned is that a lot of “failed habits” aren’t about mindset at all. They’re about the nervous system. When your nervous system feels under pressure, unsafe, overwhelmed, or stretched too thin, it doesn’t care about your good intentions. It cares about survival. So even if you want to eat well, move your body, rest more, show up consistently… your system might be quietly pulling you back to what feels familiar and safe. Not because it’s best for you. But because it’s known. That’s why habits often fall apart when: - you’re stressed - you’re tired - you’re emotionally overloaded - you’re trying to do too much at once Your body goes into protection mode. And protection always beats plans. I see this in myself all the time. When I’m regulated and steady, habits feel simple. When I’m dysregulated, everything feels harder and I start asking myself what’s wrong with me. Nothing is wrong. My system just needs support before it can change. This is why pushing harder usually backfires. And why being kind to yourself actually helps habits stick. Small changes. Low pressure. Safety first. Not forcing. Not shaming. Not trying to overhaul your life when your system is already stretched. If you’ve been stuck in the stop–start cycle, it doesn’t mean you lack commitment. It usually means your nervous system hasn’t felt safe enough to stay consistent. And that’s something you can work with, gently. What habit keeps falling apart when you’re stressed? I share a lot of this kind of nervous-system-aware support inside The Sacred Pause. (I have just launched a course in there that will help with this). If this spoke to you, you’re very welcome to join us.

@Mercedes Aspland This is so beautifully expressed. The nervous system as the gatekeeper of change, not mindset or willpower, YES!!! I've experienced this through my own emergence work, and it's exactly what so many people miss: the body has to feel safe before it can evolve. The habit that falls apart for me when I'm stressed? Boundaries around my time. I overextend and wonder why I feel depleted. Grateful you're holding this kind of work. 💖✨
Lately, I’ve Been Noticing Something…
I’ve been showing up in a few different spaces recently, not really with a plan, more just listening and noticing what’s being shared, what’s underneath the words, what people are actually saying without always meaning to say it. And something keeps standing out. So many people are doing so much inner work. They’re reflecting, journalling, trying to stay grounded, trying to trust themselves, trying to hold it all together, and yet they’re doing it quietly, often on their own, often questioning whether they’re too sensitive or overthinking or somehow missing something everyone else seems to have figured out. I keep seeing people doubting their intuition, softening their truth to fit the room they’re in, carrying a lot without really having anywhere safe to put it down. And it’s made me think about how rarely we actually have spaces that let us just be, without fixing, explaining, or performing our growth. Honestly, most of us don’t need more information or another thing to work on. We need spaces that feel steady, grounding, and human. Spaces where your nervous system can soften a little. Where you don’t have to be “on”. Where sensitivity isn’t something to manage, it’s something that’s respected. That’s kind of how the Empowered Spirit Tribe has naturally become what it is. Not because I set out to build something flashy or perfect, but because there was a real need for somewhere slower, quieter, and more real. A place to land, to reflect, to reconnect with yourself without being rushed or told what you should be doing. I’ve watched people soften there in ways that feel subtle but powerful. Not because they were pushed or guided or told what to do, but because they finally felt safe enough to listen to themselves again. So if you’ve been craving a space that feels grounding rather than noisy, intuitive rather than performative, and supportive without pressure, this might be something your body recognises before your mind does.

@Jocelyn Vienneau , this really resonates. There's so much truth in what you're naming here, that quiet exhaustion of doing the inner work alone, of carrying it all without a place to actually set it down and just be. I love that you've created a space where sensitivity is respected, not managed. That's exactly what so many of us need, a place where we can soften, listen to ourselves, and stop performing our growth. I just joined your group, and I'm looking forward to experiencing the energy of what you've built here. 💖✨
When You Finally Stop Ignoring What Your Soul Is Asking You to Step Into
A few years ago, I kept feeling this persistent nudge, like there was something more I was meant to be doing, something bigger I was being called to step into. But every time I tried to step into it, the doubts would sneak in. Am I ready? Do I know enough? What if I'm wrong? I realized I was stuck in a loop of feeling the call but not fully answering it. What shifted everything for me was finally releasing the fears and patterns that were keeping me small, and getting clear on what my soul was actually asking me to step into. Not what looked good on paper, not what made logical sense, but what FELT TRUE. That's the work I now support others in doing. If you've been feeling that same nudge, that pull toward something more aligned, more soul-led, more YOU, but you're not sure how to take the next step, I want you to know you're not alone in that. I'm currently running a 5-day Activate Your Higher Calling Challenge inside my community, Sacred Path of Light, for intuitives, healers, and awakening leaders who are ready to step into their soul's work with clarity and support. We're moving through tuning in, releasing blocks, clarifying vision, and embodying the next chapter. If that resonates and you feel called to join us, you're welcome here: https://www.skool.com/sacred-path-of-light-4247/about The challenge is happening now. 💖✨

Hi There! I'm Kay, excited to be here!
Hi everyone! I’m Kay and so excited to be here!!! I’m a Soul Alchemist, Light Language channel, and guide for those called to deeper transformation and energetic embodiment. My journey and work are all about helping awakening souls activate their highest potential through Light Language activations, frequency upgrades, and grounded, practical tools for living as your true self. 🧘‍♀️ My favorite spiritual practice is tuning into the field, letting higher guidance come through, and transmitting what’s needed for soul-level shifts—whether that’s through activations, energy work, or sometimes just getting quiet and listening. 🌿 A tool I love using with clients is Light Language—there’s nothing quite like the frequency shifts that come from these transmissions. It’s about clearing, activating, and anchoring new potentials so you can walk your path with clarity and courage. ✨ This month, I’m focused on inviting more soul-aligned leaders into my own community, Sacred Path of Light, and guiding everyone through the “Activate Your Higher Calling” 5-Day Challenge starting soon. If anyone here feels called to join a space devoted to higher calling, soul alchemy, deep embodiment, and living in alignment, you’re welcome to join us: https://www.skool.com/sacred-path-of-light-4247/about Looking forward to connecting, sharing, and supporting one another’s expansion. Excited to meet everyone and see what unfolds in this circle!

@Jocelyn Vienneau It’s so true, there’s no one right way for these experiences to unfold, and sometimes the most important thing is to be present and allow whatever comes up to move in its own timing. I’m grateful for this space where we can honor all of it, together.

My top task for this week is to record more videos for my YouTube Channel and my Skool Community. A small win is that I’m finally feeling better and more energized since I was down with a pretty bad cold last week.
