I’m 48 and navigating perimenopause (though with an IUD, it’s hard to know exactly where I am in the transition). What I do know is that strength training has been life-changing — building muscle has supported my energy, metabolism, and overall health in ways nothing else has. Miss you too! I wanted to tell you that I started doing 2 45m workouts a week of strength training at the gym and feel better. I was depressed and so tired with all the menopause issues. Such a game changer.

Sometimes life can be so chaotic with kids, career, partner, and social responsibilities that things are just too overwhelming to even want to get up and face the day We have all been there. Stuck! Stuck in a moment that seems like forever. But it’s not. Some days I feel invincible and others totally dragged down as if I wasn’t invincible days before.
A Mindful Habit
When you’re not in a “low-calorie friendly” place like restaurants or park attractions, PAUSE - PLAN - PORTION 1. Pause - Before you grab food, take a deep breath and check in with yourself: “Am I actually hungry or just tempted because it’s in front of me?” 2.Plan - Scan what’s available and decide what’s worth it. Choose one or two higher calorie items you’ll enjoy, and balance with lighter, protein based options if available 3 Portion - Serve yourself a reasonable portion instead of grazing. If it’s a buffet, use a smaller plate and fill half with vegetables / protein first Choices can make or break your habit building 🫶💪
