Feelings and Fulfillment for Friday
The grace and beauty of writing is it allows you to peel off layers of awareness and go deeper with each sentence. And each word is a sentence. I know I definitely become sentenced; that is, committed to going to where The Sentence ~ this designation, term limit, boundary ~ is taking me. We do the same when we write out our feelings. The thoughts that emerge cleanse receptor cells within the body, especially the endocrine system where emotions are said to be stationed. Here are ways to write out your feelings as a way of reaching for fulfillment: 👋 Write with the non dominant hand ✊ Take time to doodle and use colors 👍 Use an interesting writing pad or resource, such as the blank pages in that calendar you bought after the year had started 🖖 Try your hand at rhyming, using under 8 words for each line, 8 lines max 👊 Write a letter to that someone you know you need to, as a draft Let me know how it feels to try any of these.... Finally, I just want to share that in writing workshops I've led, and being a writing tutor in the past, I felt sad that people did not want to write what they truly felt. Fear held them in an invisible vise, frozen in memories they couldn't let go of. Perhaps they only recalled the time that writing caused or was the subject of upset, upheaval and endings. Or maybe they were just not used to writing as a way to relieve and relearn who they really are (Oh yes, writing can bring YOU out of you). As we grower older, wiser, and surrendered to take care of loved ones ~ family-close and/or as people-managers ~ it pays to be real, on paper, with ourselves. This is definitely a boon to our relationships. It opens the way to untangling the chemistry of reluctant endocrine cells so they are more supportive and releasing, chemically, of the past. For me, this is where essential oils come in. I use aromas to free my writing hand, and to free my feelings lodged in the endocrine system. Visit the 2for1 aroma session to learn more.
