Okay... this might sound random but hear me out... Day before yesterday I'm talking to this kid about his business struggles... and suddenly I'm thinking about Uber drivers... stay with me... What if... instead of every driver figuring out the best routes alone... the peak hours... the tip strategies... what if 5-6 drivers in each city met weekly to share what's actually working? Driver A discovers airport runs at 4 AM pay double... Driver B figured out the magic words that get tips... Driver C knows which events are goldmines... Instead of everyone starting from scratch... they're building on each other's wins... And then it hit me... why am I not doing this for MY business? I'm out here trying to figure out marketing... pricing... client retention... all by myself... when there are probably 4-5 other entrepreneurs in similar situations who could help me see what I'm missing... The Uber thing got me thinking... what if every industry had these little informal groups? Photographers sharing what packages sell best... coaches comparing what keeps clients longest... writers swapping what headlines convert... Am I crazy or does this make total sense? What would happen in YOUR industry if 5 people stopped competing and started collaborating? When you have 3-4 people who KNOW your goals... who check in on you weekly... who call you out on your excuses... suddenly you move at 5X speed... ...and not because you're smarter... but because you can't hide... The lone wolf entrepreneur is a myth... every successful person I know has their 'inner circle' that keeps them moving when they want to quit... Let's Talk About The Thing No One Talks About... Taking a BREAK You know what... after all these years of building businesses... running MasterMinds... creating content... ...sometimes the most PRODUCTIVE thing you can do is... absolutely nothing... I know... I KNOW... that sounds counterintuitive... especially when you're building something important... when you have momentum... when there's SO much to do... But here's what I've learned after watching hundreds of entrepreneurs... the ones who burn brightest often burn OUT... and the ones who last... who build sustainable success... they understand something crucial... Your brain needs white space to create breakthroughs... Think about it... when do your BEST ideas come? In the shower... on a walk... lying in bed at 3 AM... ....rarely when you're grinding at your desk for the 10th hour straight... ...for me... I very often get them in the shower ... AND for that reason I have a Special Paper (that does NOT get WET...and a Pencil, that I can WRITE down my "spur of the moment ideas"...right there and then in the shower...that way I don't lose them, smart, ha ;-)... The MasterMind principle I have used for 25+ years... it works because of the SPACE between meetings... the time to process... to integrate... to let ideas marinate... You're not a machine... you're a creator... and creators need cycles... ....intense focus followed by complete release... Sometimes stepping away for a day... a weekend... even just an afternoon... gives you the perspective that months of grinding never could... The business will be there tomorrow... the community will understand... and you'll come back with fresh eyes and renewed energy... What's calling to you right now? A walk? A movie? Time with someone you love? Or just... nothing? Whatever it is... give yourself permission... because the entrepreneur who takes strategic breaks is the one who's still thriving 25 years later... just like you have been... Your business needs you WHOLE... not exhausted...
