Hot tires
Is there a product that can be installed over polyurethane on a flake that helps with tire stains? It’s a concern of a customer of mine and I don’t want to make any promises that I can’t stand behind. He does have z-rated tires on his vehicle. I’ve heard some installers tell customers they can park on their floor the next day. I’ve read thru lots of data pages and I can’t find any that allow or encourage vehicles within 7 days? Maybe I’m missing something or there’s a better product I could use?

there are some great sprayable options out there. But it shouldn’t be a big issue with quality polyaspartic and urethanes
Edge grinder options
Hey guys, Does anyone have any experience with a grinder like the one attached in the photo? I like the idea to save my back, but it’s a bit of an investment. Wasn’t sure if anyone had any feedback?

I’ve never used one. From what I’ve seen in different groups over the past couple years is the folks that have bought and used are split down the middle 50% say they love it, and the other 50% say it’s absolute trash and waste of money.
Prickles on the floor
Already brought up the question about sanding the flake before clear coat. Just trying to figure out a a better work flow. You know, how after the clear coat on flaked floors there's still some spots where an odd flake will be sticking out and if you walk around with your socks on it will snag... I don't know if the expectation for the finished product is different for all the customers or I should start bringing it up / mentioning, but I've had some people who were asking if it's normal. I do come back and try to just knock some of high spots off ( if there are some ), but even on the floor that looks good and feels good to the touch, if you walk around with just socks on, some prickle will snag here and there. Is there something you do to avoid that ? just curious, maybe it's just getting into my head now too much after having a hard customer, what are your thoughts?

We scrape floors 90 % of the time, 3 ways. We dont sand very often. The first one is not really a true scrape. just push all material to the back, next blow it. Now we can get a true scrape.north south east west. Its hard to scrape with alot of fluff on top in my opinion. if you dont change out your scraper blades or sharpen them you will start to have inconsistencies. we flip the scraper over to the fresh side every 1500ft roughly.

Had the pleasure of dropping this floor with Jeremy yesterday! All the coaching along with tips and just his overall experience was no doubt super helpful and has me ready for the next one!

Grind and Seal SF Pricing Recommendations
Any recommendations on a fair SF price for a grind and seal jobs. I have been doing more flaked garage floors lately, but I got a potential 3600sqrft that we will rip up vct and carpet tile and will need to grind the remaining adhesive/glue off and I want to give them a number to smooth & seal it up as well.

Let them know you’ll see the ghost squares from the tile most likely. But we are between 5-9 per ft. At $5 it’s a simple 30 grit metal cut. At $9 we cut it 30,70,120 grit metals 50 grit ceramics maybe 100s. Picture is a polish but same thing will happen

@Alvis Ciritis no you won’t see them if there is a pigment coating go on the slab. The man’s original question was about a grind and seal meaning it’s clear. Yes with a grind and seal you will see the ghost tiles from the vct.
