The recycling plant doesn’t take bedding, so we’re looking at other things to make from the linen received. A bag is made using a pillowcase, child’s hoodie hat, and an appropriate T-shirt print….

I met Lynda in another skool community that she belongs to the upcycle/ refashion rebels. I love her style and wanted to try here is my first effort. A friend wanted me to embellish her backpack. She wanted purple, dragonfly and be able to wash from time to time. So here it is. The fist picture is the before.

I had a lovely surprise when I popped back to the uk this week. So of course I got busy. This is what my creation looks like so far. Might need leaves or something to balance it. What do you all think? I added leaves and some stitching for bark and feathers.

Hi all, I have been lurking for a bit and busy. But I do love to do some slow stitching as well machine stitching. I am attaching a couple of my hand stitched projects I use. The first is my sofa hand sewing kit. Second one holds my video camera I haven’t learned to use. Then some Kantha style mug rugs. I have more saved in drawers in my sewing area that I will be excited to photo later and share.

I’ll be popping in less over the next six weeks as I prepare for my lower back surgery in early May and then take the time needed to recover well afterward. I’m also working hard to get several new recordings uploaded to my new YouTube audio reading channel before surgery, so my days are a little fuller than usual right now. Don’t worry—I’m not disappearing, just stepping back a little for a season. Please keep the community active, warm, and encouraging while I’m quieter here.
