7 contributions to Fractional Executive Community
Book Editor
Hi everyone, I know someone in the group has recently published a book but I can't remember who. I am looking to pick their brain as I am in the process of writing a book and would like to talk through their process, lessons learned and what they might have done differently. Please feel free to email me directly at [email protected] Thanks!

@Shirley Cress Dudley that sounds like an interesting session for people who want to write (business?) books? :-)
Intro...
Hi all, A quick note to introduce myself. After many years working with PE-backed B2B enterprise software companies, I’m now exploring the possibility of building a portfolio career. My experience spans the full customer lifecycle, from presales and solution strategy through to implementation, customer success, managed services, retention and growth. I’ve worked globally and am based in the UK. I’m currently trying to understand where that breadth of experience might be most valuable in a fractional or advisory capacity, and whether there is a genuine market need for it. I’m particularly interested in learning from others who have made a similar transition, as well as connecting with people who may have encountered the kinds of challenges I can help solve. Very much looking forward to connecting with you all!

still working on that same question on the transition. :-)
Spring Cleaning- tidy up your profiles
UPDATED: *This post is exclusively related to your FEC profile.* I'm happy to see the group growing. This community is full of seriously accomplished people: fractional executives, coaches, consultants, and advisors at the top of their game. There are also some executives exploring fractional work and your profile should reflect where you are on that journey. ***Most of you are already doing this well. For the small number who aren't, this post is for you. If you haven't already, please take 5 minutes in your Fractional Executive Community profile to: ✅ Upload a real headshot (no logos, no avatars) ✅ Use your full name ✅ Write a profile description that speaks to your professional work: what you do, who you serve, and what makes you the go-to person in your space. Your profile description is not a tagline or a sales pitch. Tell us who you are: your background, your area of expertise, and the type of work you do. We're not here to be sold to; we're here to know, like, and trust each other. Think of your profile here the same way you'd think of your LinkedIn — this is where potential clients, collaborators, and referral partners are checking you out. Example: "Mindset Queen" doesn't help your fellow members collaborate, or just listing your name again. "Fractional CFO helping SaaS companies scale from $1M to $10M" gives us helpful information. In June I'll be doing a profile review. Those who haven't updated their profiles will receive a personal notification before any action is taken. To protect the quality and trust of this space, incomplete or unprofessional profiles, or profiles with pitches in them, will be removed. If you need help writing yours, or have any questions, drop a comment below. Thank you.

@Shirley Cress Dudley following this thread. I verified on LinkedIn but am wary of providing official government ID info on a platform. Everyone seems to get hacked these days, so no idea how safe our data is. :-)
What Verticals/Industry Sectors do you serve?
Hello everyone! To help us better understand the expertise in the room and facilitate better referrals, I'd love to know which sectors you specialize in. Please list the Verticals/Industry Sectors you have experience serving. Feel free to list more than one! Examples of Verticals include: - Healthcare & Life Sciences - Finance & Accounting - Consulting / Marketing & Creative - SaaS & Software / FinTech / Cybersecurity - Manufacturing / Logistics & Supply Chain - Energy & Utilities - Retail & E-commerce / Hospitality - Non-Profit / Government If possible, comment with your Industry + Function. Example: I'm primarily in Healthcare (Industry) and focus on Marketing (Function). Looking forward to seeing the range of expertise we have here!

at the moment, mostly Consulting for Marketing and strategy. Currently in Cybersecurity, but in the past also around innovation and corporate VC support. Mostly in the tech/IT sector though.
LinkedIn Live Update and Request for Support
We hosted our first LinkedIn Live today, and I wanted to share a quick update. First, the good news: the event promotion reached approximately 2,000 people. We used this month’s 10% membership fee allocation to help promote the event, which gave us strong visibility. We also had 17 people attend live, and the broadcast generated 114 impressions, and 20 people went to the FractionalExecutiveConnecton.com website after the event was over. Now, the opportunity for improvement (the bad news): I was not able to successfully bring our FEC experts into the live broadcast as interactive participants. I continued with the presentation, but the experience was not as collaborative or polished as I had intended. I want to sincerely apologize to our co-hosts. I was not able to successfully bring you into the live broadcast as interactive participants, and that was frustrating and disappointing. I successfully tested it by myself, but was not successful when there were co-hosts. I appreciate the time, preparation, and expertise you brought to the event, and I’m sorry the technology did not allow us to showcase you properly. For our next LinkedIn Live, I would like to create a smoother, more professional, and more interactive experience, especially when we have co-hosts or featured experts. - The ASK: If you have experience running LinkedIn Live events with co-hosts, panelists, or guests, please reply to this thread or email me directly. I would greatly appreciate your guidance so we can improve the experience for future events. Thank you.

sadly I tuned in too late. is there a chance to rewatch the LinkedIn Live? I have set up my share of webinars etc but not real experience with LinkedIn live. happy to help test though. It does seem like it's pretty "doable" with a zoom meeting: https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a7460483
