3 contributions to Fractional Executive Community
Book Editor
Hi everyone, I know someone in the group has recently published a book but I can't remember who. I am looking to pick their brain as I am in the process of writing a book and would like to talk through their process, lessons learned and what they might have done differently. Please feel free to email me directly at [email protected] Thanks!

Good to know. I will be finishing the first part this weekend which consists of 4 chapters so I would like to begin the editing process as soon as possible. Thanks Shirley.
Do you list your fractional clients on LinkedIn?
Do you list your fractional clients on LinkedIn? This came up recently, and I’m curious how others are handling it. Some fractional executives list every client as a separate current role on LinkedIn. Their profile may show 4–5 active fractional roles at the same time. I understand the thinking- it can show credibility, momentum, and proof that they’re in demand. Personally, I take a different approach. I list myself as the founder of my company, (In this example - my marketing company, SCD Consulting Services,) and I don’t publicly name current clients. Others use a middle ground. They may mention client industries, outcomes, testimonials, or past client names (with permission) in their About section. What do you do? Do you name your fractional clients publicly, keep them private, or use another approach? And why?

I would not name my clients. I would treat them like I treated my consulting clients in my big 4 life. If a perspective client wants references than I keep a portfolio of clients who are willing to give a reference and then let them know that I sent to XYZ client should they reach out.
What Verticals/Industry Sectors do you serve?
Hello everyone! To help us better understand the expertise in the room and facilitate better referrals, I'd love to know which sectors you specialize in. Please list the Verticals/Industry Sectors you have experience serving. Feel free to list more than one! Examples of Verticals include: - Healthcare & Life Sciences - Finance & Accounting - Consulting / Marketing & Creative - SaaS & Software / FinTech / Cybersecurity - Manufacturing / Logistics & Supply Chain - Energy & Utilities - Retail & E-commerce / Hospitality - Non-Profit / Government If possible, comment with your Industry + Function. Example: I'm primarily in Healthcare (Industry) and focus on Marketing (Function). Looking forward to seeing the range of expertise we have here!
