Always hated Xmas since childhood, was never a good experience and still causes so much stress for so many, I don't want anything to do with it. Why do we have to join in just because others do, it's a religious holiday, do we join in with all the holidays of all the other religions, no. So why this one? You get ridiculed when you don't follow the heard, get called Scrooge or Grinch, and that is definitely not in the spirit of giving. The masses watch negative news on TV/media etc, and yet we are informed that it's better when we don't, and to avoid such negativity. Christmas has always been a negative experience for me, causing much pain. People have no idea, that wishing me merry Xmas, was really painful, they felt good at my expense and I could not tell them. I don't have a problem with them doing what they want to do, just not having it shoved in my face. I learned to not react inside and just ignore them. I feel it's great to celebrate life always not just somedays and don't need a reason for the season. Each to their own, but please just keep it to yourself no need to shove it in my face. So I have learned to no longer hate, and transform that negative emotional energy into kindness, to have compassion for ignorant people inflicting pain on others, and to simply reply to being told merry Xmas, with happy holidays, taking a more neutral stance. I don't have to buy into it. So my affirmation is, "Happy Holidays!" That way I am relieved of any negativity in myself.
