Paper shredder?
I'm curious what kind of shredder everyone has? I'm currently using the one at my office which is a Pen&Gear 16 sheet cross cut. It works but eventually I'm gonna melt it down. Looking for one that can handle double walled boxes. Just in case your curious as to how much cardboard you can shred in 1 1/2 hrs that has had the stickers and tape removed prior. Its around 40 gallons(pictured) 🤦🤦🤦

@Rick Redding I've heard of the sheets. I just bought a bottle off Amazon. It really seems a lot like 3-in-1 oil I use in my woodshop!

Bedding Depth?
How deep do you all try to keep your bedding piles? I've read some species prefer being shallow vs deep. My plastic shoebox bin is probably a good 8" deep - is that too deep? Do Red Wigglers prefer surface area over volume? I know @Cherene Packard uses mortar mixing bins that seem to be pretty shallow. What works for you all?

@Cherene Packard I took my 12qt plastic tub and dumped them into a much bigger space. The bottom surface area is maybe 30% bigger, so that took the depth from about 6"-7" to about 4"-5". BUT the cool thing is that I'm using the worm bin from my first failed worm attempt 6 years ago! 🤪 This bin had holes all through the bottom and a second bin underneath. This will let me get some better moisture control/dripping into the shredded paper below. Bigger space for worms. Moisture control AND inoculated paper below. Reuse materials. Have the 12qt bin for future expansion or cleanouts. Win-win-win!!
Weekend Vermi-Project #2
What do you do when you're old, not supposed to bend or twist at the waist and lifting isn't a great idea - BUT - you have a 50 gallon tote just BEGGING for worms? You build this! If you want to see where it goes, check out @Leah Pari 's "Can I See Your Setup" post. P.S. I'm not skinny, but i'm also not as fat as that picture represents! Kathy is going to be replaced as camera person if she keeps this up!

Packaging of castingd
When I package my castings for sale or use how do I keep the microbes alive. I use zip lock bags as my storage containers are they satisfactory ?
