Worm shelves
There was a little bit of interest in the shelves my bins sit on. Have a look 👀

Love this set up. Also I saw your post on FB of your dad's gardening 😁😁😁 Most of my castings production goes to this use as well 😎😎😎
Hungry Little Buggers!
i reset 2 breeder bins and fed all the appropriate bins on Monday. 1/4 of worm chow for each breeder bin except the ones I just reset. Yesterday evening, I took a quick peek at the breeder bins that are going to be reset next Monday. All their food was gone! I thought I was going to have to feed them once a week, maybe twice. Are these worms going to need feeding every day? The two bins that get reset a week from next Monday were almost gone. I'm sure when I look today, they'll need feeding as well! How much food do your 500 count totes go through? Should I be feeding more at once or disturb them every day or two?

Just top feed em 1-2 Tbsp chow, wont disturb them at all

@Rick Redding did you see the tiny cocoon i posted? There were loads of em and they are ENCs. The bedding dried out quite a bit more than I wanted and you could see the cocoons 10 times better because they weren't damp and covered in moist dirt
Pre Compost Started Indoors For First Time
First of all, much prefer mixing outdoors. ☺️ The goal is to divide into 3 to help start 3 26 gallon bins in a couple of weeks ! Last night I mixed 16 gallons of Micro Cross Cut cardboard with 3 gal of Coffee Grounds, 1.5 qts each of water, Veg Slurry, Rice rinse water, Banana Skins Water, Yeast culture liquid and Veg water from boiling and steaming that was beginning to mould. Great moisture content and this morning had risen 25° above ambient room temperature. Just added another 2 qts of yeast culture water and 3 qts of coffee grounds. Looking forward to see what temps it will be at 11 pm tonight and then in the morning. Very Happy with results so far !

@David Humphrey I'd say you'll get some good heat with this batch!!!
Cocoon sizes
Here's a perfect example of how small cocoons can be. These are ENC cocoons on an index card.

@Cherene Packard the bedding dried down more than normal and the tiny cocoons were much easier to see without the extra moisture. They've about quit dying off finally
Temu arrived now for the test
Testing time of the temu chopper so far I am happy it seems to work well that is if the drills battery would have been charged and not give. Up on me half way through the test but looks good foto 1 the nasty sharp blades foto 2 torn up boxes soaking foto 3 the torn up boxes drained and dumped inbuckwtbto be shredded foto 4 the result before battery died on drill
