Road tripping worms!!
My African Nightcrawlers made it safe and sound after 7 days in the mail. Very healthy and again not 1 dead worm. Scott at Hungry Worms is the best. He also sent more like 5 lbs opposed to the 2lbs I ordered.

@Jason Evans such good - and unexpected - news! How fast are these babies at reproducing? Are they like wigglers?

@Jason Evans the fishermen will love them! I never thought of using marketplace to sell to fishermen.
🪱 Worm Farm Hangout
Join the Worm Farm Hangout here: 🔗 https://www.skool.com/live/zRBSzM3JjlB Our friend @Rick Redding had a great idea for creating a community hangout room, so I thought I'd give it a try starting July 1. This is a place for anyone in the community to hop on, chat, ask questions, share what you're working on, or just get to know other worm farmers. Whether you're brand new or have been worm farming for years, everyone is welcome. I'll jump in from time to time when I can, but this space is really for all of us to connect and learn from each other. Join the Worm Farm Hangout here: 🔗 https://www.skool.com/live/zRBSzM3JjlB Let's see where this goes! 🪱

@Cherene Packard Actually it's open now. Anytime any of us want to jump on, we can do it. You can make a post "I WANT TO HANGOUT!" or send a DM, @Jason Evans I want to hangout and then just click the link.
What's this about to be?

@Cherene Packard this one is also pretty simple. If someone wants to make one, if you've done stuff like this, you can just get some better pics. If not, I would be happy to run through the steps I did and help.

@Tiffany Arellano come to my garage. You'll get some nostalgia for a bit.
Can We Talk Chow Of The Worms?
For those of you making your own worm chow - unless it's a secret trademarked formula of course - I have a couple questions. 1) this is the chicken feed I bought. It's smaller than expected but I wonder if running it through the blender - or a grinder - would make it better because it would be even smaller for the little Vermi. 2) I've been using polenta (corn meal) & oats - both ground up with some egg shells - also ground fine. That's all I had at the time. Now I have the chicken feed but i'm not sure the best mix or what else I should look at adding. I'm not adding the eggshells anymore. It makes it smell icky, so I'll just add them separately. More questions to come!

@Jason Evans with 50# of chicken feed, I'm gonna need a crap ton more of the other ingredients! ;)

@Cherene Packard I use a LOT of eggs so I like the free quality of it.

@Harry Caulkin I've been noticing that the first round seems to peak and then drop quicker. I don't know if that's just me or if it's normal.

@Harry Caulkin it makes sense to me that on rounds 2 and 3, there's more biota to start with so it could get hotter and last longer. I'll add it to the things I start tracking.

I help people stop staring into the fridge, feed themselves better, and let worms turn the leftovers into black gold.
