Do you see yourself as an artist?
With my passions: Video, Spoken-Word/Writing ... I've always wanted to create a theater show. And I did lol . . . In 2004 I completed and performed my first theater play → 4 Bellies (an exploration, a battle of the mind and soul through spoken-word and dance). Maybe I'll share someday 😄 But...I want to hear from YOU. What’s something you’ve always wanted to mix into your dance that people might not know about you?

Hey a big shout-out to everyone, and apologies for the delay, boss; this week was pretty hard for me. I’m glad to hear that several members are able to incorporate other concepts and art forms into their breaking. As for me, I can say that I, too, consider myself an artist—though, unfortunately, I haven't really made room in my life for other talents or passions. From the very beginning, it was always just breaking and me; I fell completely in love with this dance, and for many years, it was my whole world. Later on, once responsibilities kicked in, I found myself working whatever jobs were necessary just to survive—so, consequently, that hasn't been something I’ve been able to integrate into my dance. Maybe that wasn't the most sensible decision, but you learn from your mistakes. As I mentioned before, my goal is to master my breaking at the highest possible level; I don't want to let myself down. Thanks for the space, boss; I hope to get through this difficult phase of my life soon and that it serves as just another lesson along the journey. Blessings 🙏🏼🙌🏻✨
“What if foundation isn’t moves, but understanding?”
Most people think foundation is: - Top rock - 6-step - 3-step - CCs - Baby freeze - Back rock . . . etc. But that’s not foundation. Those are examples of foundation. Foundation is the principles behind the moves. If someone only knows the moves, they can only copy. If someone understands the principles, they can create. These foundational movements lead to more difficult movement…(Pencil/Drill = Continuous Head-spins). 🧠 Share your insights 🙏🏼

I completely agree with you Boss. In my opinion, foundation is, in part, the essence of breaking—as you said, the principles that give rise to the movements and to breaking in general.. 🙌🏻✨

@Richie 'Abstrak' Soto Thank you so much, boss. Your words truly mean a lot to me. I missed the group video calls a while ago. Perhaps it's possible to schedule one for a weekend, please? It would be easier for me to manage my time that day, and we could have a better conversation.. 🙏🏼✨

Momentum . . .
Sometimes we begin strong or start slow. Either way you start . . . at least you started and are here now. Whether its 1 year or 20 years later. ⁉️ When you started, What was the hardest challenge you were faced with ⁉️ For me... It was dancing in front of others. Entering cyphers...I had to have a hat on, low... My eyes would only look to the ground. Breakin' gave me the confidence to be around other people, to be able to talk to others. Growing up ... I was a shy kid even though I danced in front of 100's when I would impersonate Michael Jackson 😅. And You?

Nice reflection, master! I think many of us share the same difficulty, since I used to be extremely shy, and breakdancing taught me to live in a way I never imagined. My change was complete; I never left the house, and now I travel all over the city to train and participate in jams. I started traveling, talking to people, and overcoming my shyness, and that has been a huge help in my life. Cyphers are still a challenge for me today, but not as much as they used to be. Ultimately, I feel like I'm facing my toughest challenge right now, since my goal is to be the best version of myself in breakdancing, and there are many obstacles. I have to work all day, I'm trying to recover from a knee injury, etc. Anyway, I believe that perseverance pays off, and I hope this is just a stage on the journey. Peace to all and have a good weekend 🙏🏼🙌🏻✨
REFLECTION
Hi everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. I just wanted to quickly share this thought about how amazing it is for me to watch the film *Abstract*. I think it contains very valuable and important content. I've always revisited it since my early days, but reconnecting with it is always great. Take some time to study it; it will be a great help to you. @Richie 'Abstrak' Soto Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with this community. And finally, I'd like to add that the film's soundtrack is amazing. I practiced a bit with it these past few days, and it was practically like being in another dimension.. Have a good week Boss, peace ✌🏻🙏🏼✨
