Onwards and upwards
Hi team, hope your weekend’s been awesome. I thought I’d share a bit about my journey now it’s been a few months. Apologies for a bit of a long post!! When I started out back in May, I hoped to learn good nutrition habits, burn some fat and learn about strength training. I felt I was choosing this *instead of* focusing on swim-bike-run activities, my main interests. Before this, I’d kinda fallen off the wagon during lockdown years and hadn’t done many sportives in quite a few years, so I wanted to get my rhythm back. I dived in and really tried to build that consistency from the start. After a few months, I had completely changed my routine - my eating habits were healthy, my activity and energy levels were up and I was in the midst of a transformation I didn’t know was possible. And the crazy thing is by August, when a buddy mentioned a triathlon he was doing that month, my first thought was: I wonder if I could do that. I hadn’t been training for a triathlon, but with the months of training under my belt and the stellar coaching from @Jason Smith and @Simon Johnson, I realised: you know what, I can do this. I’d built the confidence to just get up and go for it. So I did. I finished the sprint distance, 9 years since my last tri, even with a time I’m proud of. This training has given me more than I expected at the outset and I’m grateful to our coaches and to the inspiring stories from all of you. I hope you’re out there killing it this weekend. Stay strong and aim higher 🚀

Hi, I’m Jennifer from Texas, and I’m new as well - excited to learn healthier habits especially in relation to fitness, which I haven’t ever done! I hope to reduce my body fat and increase my muscle mass for a better figure in my late 40s and stronger bones in my 60s and 70s
